RE: Why Why Why - SummerMcLovin - 09-25-2013 What I've went with is that the title of the ID is known to the other player inRP as what kind of person he is dealing with (although I'd play along with some undercover players such as Wilde or specific cases) but the actual lines and permissions are not. IFFless players and stuff like Xeno-IFFed Legates are still recognisable, as are IFFless IDs such as Bretonian Privateer, TAZ etc. but you can't use their restrictions as inRP knowledge. Some of these problems are reduced with the IDs giving IFF but I'd still go by this. As to why people are allowed to scan them ooRPly (or otherwise), you still need to know what the other player is doing outside of the rules. Knowing the ID of a Freelancer, Hacker or Outcast IDed Sabre attacking you in Kyushu possibly outside their ZoI rules is kind of important for reporting properly, upholding the rules and educating the player about what they're allowed to do. Becouse to many rules by diferent ID's not just sair. I use them just for example. Again I like to pirat. No matter what ID which offcourse allow me to pirat. Again if I pirat in so called my ZOI why am I red to some other fraction where I never did pirat? Now I will take G.junkers for example...If ID say I can pirat in other houses...I don't have to acctualy do it...soo you wrote automaticly Hostile ..automaticly you have killed that ID's possibilitys. I know you have problems whit that ID becouse they was pirating in N.B. then they sold ore ther...but why rule change...the house police shoud be able to handle that not admins. ![]() Well I wish to ask you just one more Q Is it posible to make this work: If the police get me and they ask me to show my ID? And then and only then I press some button (F9 perhaps) and they see my ID. RE: Why Why Why - Plan-B - 09-25-2013 Hi Murci - my beloved favorite pirate ? Player ? friend ? So Hacker is lost ther out of ZOI and he need some money for food...soo he pirat some "poor" trader. From ther I see your way of scan and report totaly ooRP and wrong. The trader should report the Hecker yes but not to you(admin). Trader should report him to local police.Let them deal whit lost one. So the game develop..but no offcourse we have rull please report him to admin. RE: Why Why Why - Murcielago - 09-25-2013 (09-25-2013, 10:15 PM)Plan-B Wrote: Hi Murci - my beloved favorite pirate ? Gallic Junkers have previously worked for the gallic monarchy, and still inform them of stuff in sirius. why wouldnt they be hostile to Gallia's enemies? RE: Why Why Why - Omicron - 09-25-2013 (09-25-2013, 07:46 PM)Murcielago Wrote: Because navy in real life is upholding law too. My country, maybe surprisingly to you, belongs to so called "first world countries". In said country, Navy in peace time is EXPECTED to uphold the law in sea. Special Operations are trained for anti-terrorism operations and hunting down dangerous criminals even beyond the border (wartime - thankfuly not - and diplomatic treaties). Furthermore all branches of military are ordered to assist in or carry out rescue operations of all kinds. Taking this into account of sci-fi space, a space navy is supposed to assist space police enforcnment against space pirates and even combat them on their own. They should furthermore carry out anti-terrorism operations. You can see several house naval NPC's patrolling lawless territories. To bring an example, Badlands nebula in NY is out of LPI NPC's reach - instead what you see are Bounty Hunters and Navy fighters patrolling entire south of New York. RE: Why Why Why - Sarawr!? - 09-26-2013 The reason why the Corsair Empire is Hostile to the Republic of Liberty, even though they don't operate in the same area, is, for the most part, because the Corsair Empire is At War with Bretonia -- Liberty's closest ally. There may be other reasons contributing to the hostility factor as well, but that is, by and large, the main reason. RE: Why Why Why - Echo 7-7 - 09-26-2013 http://discoverygc.com/wiki/Corsairs The Wiki stating a faction is "At War" is not 100% accurate. It previously displayed ultra-red standings as just "hostile" before some [sarcasm]genious[/sarcasm] decided to change how the faction infobox works. That said, the Corsair faction page could have the hostiles tweaked a bit to identify who the Corsairs are actually at war with (I might do that myself now). -- IDs do not exist within the roleplaying environment. Edit: Updated the Corsairs wiki page to show a better diplomacy gradient. This faction is supposed to know routes, ways, lanes, etc. Sanctions are ooRP part of game. You're frequently seeing local police ingame? I am not. So here's another situation: I'll take my favourite Red Hessian cruiser and will take it to Liberty. Suddenly "I'm lost and need money for food", I demand 10 millions from your trader because my crew is large and all of it needs to eat. You will call to lone LPI fighter to come and deal with me? Surely not, you will call to admins, so they will delete my shiny cau8. |
