RE: Liberty Rogue/Molly LF - Swallow - 11-11-2013

Gentlemen, input please.

RE: Liberty Rogue/Molly LF - Syrus - 11-11-2013

Ah, great, this looks more like what I had in mind, Swallow.
Though the middle looks a bit fat - I think that just comes from the current lack of textures and really doubt it's a problem - soooo....don't know why I even mention this. 8|

From this first preview this one seems like it fits the line better. Question will be, how big that LF is going to be, with LFs size is a big factor, obviously.

This makes me a bit torn, I really like massdriver's model, but I feel like it could do better if it weren't going to be the Pirate line's LF, maybe retexture it a bit and make it into a Civ LF? We could use a proper one of those as well!
At the moment we have:
Surveyor - big/heavy LF
(Civ Shuttle) - can't mount Class 6 guns anymore for some reason
Starblazer
[Startracker] - I hope that comes back
[Starflier] - same as above
Hawk/Griffin - flying barndoor
(Arrow) - special case

Yes? Maybe?

EDIT: I started writting this post about an hour ago and forgot about it...just saying, to keep away confusing.
I'll still have to take a look at the new model preview.

Looks more like a freighter to be honest. Maybe the height and bulk is not appealing.

RE: Liberty Rogue/Molly LF - Swallow - 11-11-2013

Hold the horses, mate, we are talking about Rogue Light fighter model...

About the size - well, it is definitely smaller than Hyena, meaning that it already fits into LF classification. Yes it is not a Liberator-thin, but it is "wild" and "rough" and follows Hyena.

RE: Liberty Rogue/Molly LF - Syrus - 11-11-2013

Hm...hm...hm!
Yes, with the more details added the ship looks a bit longer than first expected and a bit too high with that middle part. Seems just a bit too bulky at the moment. The middle part needs to be somewhat minimal, hm...I should get me a better view on a comparision for this ship's size by using the Bloodhound's cockpit hm...!

EDIT: Well, you DO know how massivly oversized the Bloodhound is? Taking that as a comparision is a bit like saying "Yep, that's a nice little bird's house" when comparing a barn with an airship hangar... :p

RE: Liberty Rogue/Molly LF - Swallow - 11-11-2013

Keep in mind that "chin" is shorter.

RE: Liberty Rogue/Molly LF - Syrus - 11-11-2013

While I don't want to spam, let me put it this way...
The Bloodhound is about 1.5x bigger than the Defender, if my memory serves me right.
And probably somewhat about 3-4x, probably rather 4x, bigger than a Patriot.
So, a "light fighter" would be maybe 1/3rd of what the Bloodhound is.

EDIT:
Btw...this shouldn't turn into a "Swallow makes a LF exactly as Syrus wants it"-thread, other people should also post their feedback! Or did your faces melt after seeing the combined awesomeness of massdriver and Swallow in this thread?
I feel a bit too nitpicky with being the one who mostly posts here... D;

Just saying. Also I seem to edit every post I make.

RE: Liberty Rogue/Molly LF - Swallow - 11-11-2013

Hm, okay... I might shrink it for a bit then. But for a bit!
I mean, Patriot is just...wrong...
