This is a damn shame. Benitez were and are an excellent group of people. I can't remember ever having a run in with you guys that wasn't fun.

Welp, considering you guys have been almost invisible as of late, it's better to go down with dignity than to lose officialdom via Admin intervention. Big respect for this. A shame, maybe but it's a chance for other Corsair groups to rise up and hopefully re-populate them one day.

Eh... it was fun playing with you guys. As an Outcast player i must say that every time i encounter any player that was from Benitez i ejoyed RPing. It's a damn shame that you guys are no longer official.

As a player who is playing Corsairs for several years I'm sad beyond description of words..
You are unique faction,with unique RP and approach to this server..
This community has lost true champions of role playing..

I'd like to use this thread to express my thanks to a large portion of the Disco community for all the fun I've had here, both as a corsair, unioner or the numerous unofficial groups I've had dealings with since 2007 (yes, this is an alt).
So without further ado thanks to:
To the denziens of Alpha, especially the 101st and RoS. There were some incredible battles back in the day and dying early or otherwise, I loved it.
BAF, I salute you. Your RP was excellent, in some cases very funny and I can't remember a bad encounter.
SCRA and RHA. We had some good times and Aerelm, it was normally fun whichever team you were on :-)
IMG. That organised stuff was really good. Shame I was present for only a few.
BHG. Yes, I know, I ate more SNACS from your bombers than I care to remember (Titan-itus I guess) but did EVENTUALLY learn.
The Bretonian Constables...well I have to thank you guys for the effort you took in taking the time to train our Baby Benitez wings in New London as to what to expect when you met well, anyone else that wasn't a corsair really. i.e: you killed them or tried to.
Special thanks goes to TBH, OPG/Sails and a lot of corsair indies from Loawai to Monty amongst others who helped make Gamma home to us for so long. You guys were the best and I was always proud to be invited to be one of your wingmen.
I'm going to make a special mention here to those Unioner headcases I had the pleasure of knowing. It was brief but great fun, even though I never really learned to fly that damned Arbeiter. I had more success in that flying matchbox or the RPC.
Eitherway, you will be fondly remembered.

I think it can't hurt to point out once again that we are not gone or disbanding or something. As Ronnie already said in the first post - for the majority of the Benitez keeping the officialdom was not worth it ornot doable in a way we would feel good with.
Yes, keeping officialdom is easy as pie these days but to us (and i think i can actually speak for all of us on that point) being offficial is more then logging 5 ships per month.
Now, my opinion is that as being unofficial simply let's us continue with our internal and external rp as we always did, without any kind of drawback, but instead remove the responsibilities, annoyances and whatnot that made the game less fun ( for me) - so maybe the time invested-fun had ratio of my sparse freetime will be tilted back towards disco , maybe not
All in all i am happy and sad to see the posts in here from the people i loved to rp with - please don't write us off or forget our good times!
@questions towards the sair council: there will be "some" news soonish, right now we are all crashing our heads together on how to proceed, i hope with good results for the sair playerbase...i would hate to see that true democratic and indy inclusive tool of faction leadership fall apart

Also, I would like to point that part of the amazing RP and things that makes Benitez so cool from my point of view is that one of the fundamental things the whole group have always in mind is to have fun with others, not against others.
This is the best scenario to have fun in this game!
