Got into English fo' real playing Disco, really helped me learn the language quick and easy.

to be sure to check the big picture whenever you are to make a decision.
that some people will simply be bitter because that's the way they are, and you will not change it.
that a helping hand can often come from a place from which you least expect it. and so can a backstab.
that achieving your grand design is done in small, seemingly insignificant steps.

On actual topic here: I learned to argue a lot which I wasn't used to do somewhere else.
Also my inglis became better after years here - so I can tell that direct impact was actually useful for inRL

I've learned the importance of something which I call 'drive'. Because when I have it, everything I want happens. When I don't, I don't feel like anything to happen.
It's important to learn to keep yourself motivated, if you want to achieve things. But when you're not motivated, the achievements lose their shine anyways.
Either way, it's cool. I just realized that now.

DiscoveryGC taught me how to properly spell English.
DiscoveryGC taught me to read Russian.
DiscoveryGC taught me that there are good people across the entire world, no matter where they come from.
DiscoveryGC taught me more about different cultures across the world than the school did. (I didn't even know Tupi existed until I actually met one playing here)
DiscoveryGC introduced me to great people in real life.
DiscoveryGC taught me to socialize with people.
Basically DiscoveryGC opened me up to the world and I swear, if I had ANY cash in my bank account, I will donate but I do not have a job yet and we barely got enough money for ourselves but I am looking for a job and when I start earning money, I will donate to the server.

It taught me the importance of good vocabulary and grammar. In order to be up to par with the rest of the community I then began reading books in English - something that is extremely beneficial. In short I owe it , for it facilitated the improvement of my English, I guess.
Disco also taught me the importance of pleasing visual appearance of stories, posts and such. A nice picture can utterly change one's perception of a project.
Oh, and to never give up.
