That makes it absolutely pointless nice one! Your math skills are bad. It is 2 batteries per second and 8 minutes 20 seconds of cloak. And if you count charge and fade time, it will be 7 minutes 10 seconds in cloak. The only cloak I ever had has just become useless. RE: Current state of cloaking devices? - Cuttsy - 01-27-2015 my god I swear it was counting down in 3s just then lol now I see its counting down in 2s , did you press some magic button ? Looks like you was counting just before Alley has changed consumption rates. RE: Current state of cloaking devices? - Thyrzul - 01-27-2015 I'm starting to think that every server crash or loss of connection in the past 12 hours are just server restarts after each minipatch. Yep. Also now it is likely base config update - MK3 cloak. RE: Current state of cloaking devices? - kikatsu - 01-27-2015 The introduction of a cloak specifically for smaller transports is an interesting turn. Might increase their usage more I imagine. And the more I think about this, the more appealing a smuggling freighter with a cloak sounds. In the past I had a smuggling freighter but I eventually swapped it out for the Serenity, because, well it is a nice ship. How much cargo does a freighter (MK2 basic cloak?) take up now? Is it still 200? If that is the case, hmm... that does severely limit the functionality of a smuggling ship, having the cargo hold cut in half like that. Changed my opinion in just a few sentences. While I don't really use ANY cloaking devices...I do see the point of this. Otherwise, you'd just see 5k powertraders cloaking their way around Sirius all over and that would disrupt the game cycle. RE: Current state of cloaking devices? - kikatsu - 01-27-2015 Cloaking powertraders is a bad thing, I agree. But what I'd really want to see is active evasion in a way. Transport or freighter full of contraband, you spot a cop, you turn your ship around, hit the cloak, guy starts closing in, you stealth up, sneak by. Doesn't have to be enough to get you through an entire system in my mind, but enough to ditch the cops and get out if you can spot them before they scan you. But if freighter cloaks take up 200 cargo and transport cloaks use cargo using batteries, I dunno how this would work. RE: Current state of cloaking devices? - Zayne Carrick - 01-27-2015 Transports with cargospace below 2200 still can use BS cloak. |
