RE: Unforgivable sins? - Jinx - 01-28-2015 The only severe "sins" i see are : - sabotaging the server - harrassment and trolling ingame or on the forum even then - i think there should always be a temporary ban first ( like a month or so in severe cases ) - and only repeat offenders should be banned permanently ( and permanently should then actually BE permanent with no way to return ) Also - no one should be excluded from those, - from newbie to admin - everyone must be measured with the same scale. RE: Unforgivable sins? - Gypsie Skripto - 01-28-2015 I was banned for one month on my first weeks in Disco for swearing in Spanish in Gammma. I'd hate to think that they'd treat me as a second offender if I ever make a mistake again, and throw me permanently into the ban dungeon. I guess if you actively trolled the community by making hack attacks to the server to make it crash or such, then it's different than if you were banned for picking a fight with admins and losing, or being hot tempered and swearing once or twice. There are unforgivable sins, probably. For those who really have had a change of attitude and still know their ban is unforgivable, start from scratch if you'll try to circumvent the ban, even in skype, make all friends over again, if your attitude has changed, it's worth a try. RE: Unforgivable sins? - Veygaar - 01-28-2015 Anything this server has seen so far can be forgiven imo. RE: Unforgivable sins? - Pancakes - 01-28-2015 Murdering anther community member. And DDOS, or otherwise action that harm the very play-ability of the game, which can include cheating. For example - cheating that I find forgivable: Duplicating equipment, cheating cash etc (of course, a slate nothing start and a watchful eye should be enforced on members that did such things, as well as a lengthy suspension from the game) Unforgivable - Making a 0 energy usage 10.0 refire SNACs and killing everyone in the server, making it unplayable for a few days (and so on) RE: Unforgivable sins? - Highland Laddie - 01-28-2015 I might draw the line at DDOSing the server. Otherwise...forgiveness is ultimately in the hands of the Admins. If you think it's worth it to forgive, then I'll trust your judgement. A player that has repeatedly shown to want their own fun at the cost of everyone else's needs to be permanently removed from the community. As a person, player and in the past, admin/dev I've always given and expected respect for and from the people we play with. I would advise this as a guideline. Maybe you don't have to Respect people but it doesn't stop people treating others With Respect. In history people have been enemies but have respected each other. Treat others as you would like others to treat you. As for the Question this Thread is about. Cheating - ie. DDOS and Hacking should be a permanent ban as long as it is proven beyond reasonable doubt. For those that prove problematic (the ones that bend every rule they can or show no respect to the rest of the Server/Staff) then the first Offence normal 6 month ban, second Offence maybe a 12 month ban, third time a permanent ban. Most people will learn from their first mistake, a minority will learn from their second mistake. When people arrive at the third time maybe it is time to say that they are never going to learn. RE: Unforgivable sins? - yddubfodier - 01-31-2015 Trolling the admins should be an unforgivable offense. Those people have no respect for authority.
