Fair enough. That would fix most of the issues. However the FL ID would still have an advantage over corporate IDs when it comes to trading. Seeing a Universal indy in the player list, you are almost certain it is a transport, but a FL indy can be anything.

It stops you from doing special rp though and protecting you from people watching chat list.
Why are we encouraging more to watch the list?
Like... There are factions that remove their tag to be secret.
You are just removing this option all together.

No jut no...It would kill pirating...already nerfed as it is if this happens scrap pirate id and merge it with Freelancer ID as even on the cover of the game says freelancer can pirate yet on this server err no...

No, this is not a change the server needs. It gives away too much information and makes it far too easy to dodge those you don't want to meet.
It's a nice idea, but even as someone who would benefit greatly from this as a bounty hunter, I give it a strong no.

Metagaming goes both sides. That and since we have 10bil pot bounties posted by two angry factions, this would not benefit anyone but people with good PVP skills in an otherwise RP environment.
I vote against it. I fly my tagged ships more these days and we already have problems with standing out too much, which leads to lots of frowns over ending up on the wrong side of the blue message. This would just end up with indie players being whacked the same way.
I would, however, suggest removing the rank altogether.
NAME GROUP "ONLINE" SYSTEM
This would make things a tad more...uncertain.

Don't replace it. Just either jeep or rénové of you can.
Still it doesn't matter. I can still fool people on an AFC arrow and have a level of 80+

We have enough metagame problems already with the playerlist.
A lotta times I'll log into the Taus just to see what the name's affiliation is. Faction tags are bad enough, ranks make ot worse. Lets not ruin the suprise completely.
