RE: GMG Reporting Terminal - Gas Miners Guild - 09-21-2018

Name: Keiji Namura
Subject: Sigma Security

Until now, The Guild has actively avoided conflict with the Federal Republic of Rheinland.

Unfortunately, this cannot continue. House Rheinland is effecting an active invasion of rightful Guild space and, as history proves, this cannot go unchallenged.

All non-essential paramilitary operations that do not directly impact the border with Rheinland are to be redirected to the front lines and the Guild paramilitary must now undertake defensive operations against the invaders as they did during the 80 Year War. The Outcasts, Corsairs and Hogosha will of course attempt to infringe on our territory but unfortunately House Rheinland has announced itself as the current most pressing threat to Guild sovereignty yet.

Commanders Watanbe of Okinawa, Garcia of Sigma-17, Takahashi of 19 and Oka of Honshu are to report their force compositions and deployments immediately to determine the optimal assignment of Guild forces to ensure the security of the Sigma systems.

On routine patrol, two separate constructs were detected in the Sigma-19 system.

Base One
Base Two

Given the current state of war The Guild finds itself unwillingly embroiled in, regular procedure of contacting the owners of these bases prior to their destruction must unfortunately be disregarded and, to maintain the security of the Sigma systems, these bases must be scuttled immediately. The Federal Republic of Rheinland is at fault for this course of action.

Subject: Illegal Installations

In its first combat deployment, one of the aforementioned illegal installations has been engaged and destroyed by the Shantar Maru. The station was apparently an unmanned and unmaintained shell, not in use.

Another was detected in the general vicinity. It is entirely possible they share owners and it will be scuttled in the same manner as the FOB Maehera.

The Guild's control of the Sigma-19 system must continue unimpeded and GMG's paramilitary will continue its operations to this end.

Subject: Frankfurt, Unioners

In response to Rheinland's aggression, The Guild paramilitary has probed the Frankfurt system. The Rheinland Military in its folly appears to have focused wholly on its offensive operations and the paramilitary squadron violated Rheinland space unchallenged.

A midnight rendezvous between a Unioner and a Gaian in the Okinawa system was later interrupted. These ships would have been no match for the Guild ships so the opportunity was taken to perhaps sew a small seed of discord within the Unioners. After a brief conversation, the Gaian was escorted to the Hiroshima system by Guildmember White and the Unioner to the Frankfurt system.

Subject: Illegal Sigma-59 Installation

A major unauthorised installation has been discovered in the Sigma-59 system. This illegal construct within the vicinity of Niigata Star City presents a substantial security issue. Given the current conflict The Guild finds itself embroiled in, an immediate assault would be entirely justifiable. However, due to the involvement of a friend in our allies Kishiro Technologies, it has been deemed reasonable to attempt an diplomatic approach in seeking a resolution to this matter. Should this prove impossible, the offending complex will be immediately scuttled by force.

A message to the alleged owners of the unlicensed construct has been sent accordingly. Their response is pending.

It would seem perhaps the ongoing turmoil with House Rheinland is a flame to the moths that consider it appropriate behaviour to infringe on the security of the Sigma systems and sovereignty of Guild space.

The wreck of Freeport 7 has been besmirched in a most tasteless manner. More importantly, the presence of an apparently open access base in Sigma-17, given the precarious position Planet Kurile currently finds itself in, is an obvious threat to GMG's interests closest to Corsair space.

By chance, an Interspace Commerce transport was earlier encountered in the Sigma-19 system, with a load of h-fuel. It proceeded to dock with the alleged memorial and museum and on its reemergence was engaged in a brief conversation.

It would again be very appropriate to scuttle this base without a word, however in the interests of tolerating apparent good intentions, a message would have been sent to its administrators requesting it be peacefully abandoned.

Incidentally, they have made contact first.

While this appears to be a genuine attempt at diplomacy, it further confirms the security risk this station poses and the attitude displayed regarding further plans is nothing short of arrogance. There is, of course, always the potential this is an effort to mask more sinister intentions. The Guild's stance remains unchanged and the base will not be permitted to stand.

The Sigma-59 situation has yielded no results. Commander Susubo states unspecified and apparently classified research is undertaken and no access will be granted to those they consider outsiders, which of course is a group within which GMG falls. As a result, the infringing complex there will be dismantled.

A more minor incident of note involves a Farmers Alliance ship wandering around Sigma-19. It was first located between Gas Miner Ogashawa and Luxury Liner Hawaii. Following an emergency landing and change to a suitable fighter craft, a Benzaiten, this ship was found harassing another Guild ship involved in a collection operation and swiftly destroyed.

Subject: Illegal Sigma-59 Installation

Fortunately, progress has been made in Sigma-59. Initially it appeared brute force was becoming imminently necessary, as supplies to the bases continued and later a heavily armed Nephilim appeared at the installation. Such a ship is not permitted in Guild space without prior authorisation but in this instance discretion was exercised and the opportunity for diplomacy seized.

Despite the initial stubbornness, perhaps it is possible a mutually beneficial agreement may be reached with this Abh group and their facilities be relocated somewhere outside of but in the vicinity of the Sigma systems. The opportunity to collaborate in future research efforts may very well prove fruitful.

The Guild will hold position for 24 hours and anticipates a message. Should one not be received, paramilitary forces will be mobilised to destroy these supposed laboratories.

The administrators of the installation in the vicinity of the Freeport 7 wreck have attempted to negotiate permission for their project, however unfortunately this will not be granted. The security situation in Sigma-17 is far too precarious at this time and even regardless of any other factors, there is simply no intention for the Sigmas to be used as the playgrounds of outsiders. Lives were and still are sacrificed for the Guild's sovereignty and independence, and these values will be respected and maintained at all times.

Diplomacy has prevailed in regards to the installations in Sigma-17 and Sigma-59. Freeport 7 Memorial & Museum has been peacefully evacuated.

As the abandoned shell remains in place, The Guild will scuttle it to prevent it falling into more unfavourable hands.

Furthermore, Commander Susobo of the Abh Research Group has come to an understanding and has agreed to relocate from Sigma-59, to the Kepler system. This has already been verified by a GMG convoy returning to the Sigmas from Liberty.

The effort to establish a working partnership with the Abh Research Group continues and to this end The Guild will assist in the construction and maintenance of the relocated laboratories. Once the installation in Sigma-59 is confirmed as abandoned, it will be scuttled in the same manner as Freeport 7 Memorial & Museum. It is hoped that future relations with the research group will be fruitful.

Konnichiwa,
during a standard patrol in the Sigma-13 system, Guildmaster Namura and Guildmember Ito requested support against a Rheinland Military Battlecruiser under the name of "RNC-Nennhausen". I decided it would be the best idea to jump into the Bishamon and provide the Guildmaster and Guildmember with some heavy support.

When I arrived at the scene, the Battlecruiser was already engaging our ships, so the Guildmaster ordered the destruction of said vessel. After a few minutes, our weapons managed to smelt through the armor plates of the RNC-Nennhausen, a couple of hits managed to hit his powercore which ended in a nice explosion.

RE: GMG Reporting Terminal - Mephistoles - 12-21-2018

Subject: Rheinland Military

On an operational level, the Rheinland Military's appetite for war is a far cry from the bloodlust of the Bundestag. Over time, it has become clear that many front line Rheinland troops will take the opportunity to avoid conflict with the Gas Miners Guild.

One example of this is an encounter which occurred when tailing two Kempaitai ships on their incursion into the Frankfurt system where we were met with Feldwebels Koetz, Krause and a third Rheinland Military fighter. While this did ultimately end up in a combat engagement, a productive discussion was had which sheds light on attitudes within House Rheinland.

A communication was later sent to the two ranking officers, which while somewhat of a dead end does again paint a picture of promising attitudes.

Another incident of note involved a Rheinland incursion into the Honshu system, which had been met by the Kusari Naval Forces. Unfortunately Guildmember Vann was forced to destroy an aggressive Rheinland fighter in self defence, however with The Guild's mediation, further crisis was averted and the Rheinland Military withdrew peacefully, returning through Sigma-13 and the jumpgate to the Frankfurt system.

There are, of course, misguided souls and outright zealots in all organisations and the Rheinland Military is no different. A battlecruiser that escaped after causing trouble in Sigma-13 was later again encountered and subsequently destroyed in Sigma-21. Another attack by a narrow-minded battlecruiser captain was successfully repelled in the Sigma-13 system.

Ultimately, there is still chance for peace with the Federal Republic of Rheinland yet. Despite the rhetoric and actions of its government, the Bundestag, the Rheinland offensive has been an auspiciously token effort thus far. Little has occurred beyond the initial assault on Ibusuki Survey Facility and relocation of the Battleship Bayern.

It is, in fact, House Kusari who has made a much more concerted effort to claim Sigma-21 as its own. The Battleship Hyono has been placed in orbit of Planet Hanoi to further their interests in the system and it was the Restored Empire of Kusari who first attempted a landgrab in the system with the construction of Kazuno Outpost and a heavy military presence. It is possible that The Guild's true foe has yet to unveil itself.
