RE: Official Factions and /nodock - Enkidu - 05-04-2017 Yes. I've seen a Junker Cardamine smuggler dock on Speyer whilst being shot at, and an Indie Hessian cruiser do the same once. RE: Official Factions and /nodock - Sikotik - 05-04-2017 I think it is a great idea, but two minutes really ain't long, you could easily keep someone at bay for two minutes. Maybe make it five-ten minutes time, and i believe it would work efficiently. Two minutes is incredibly powerful when you're under fire. If you can't be killed in two minutes, then the person shouldn't be docking and should be trying to fight instead. Anyway, you can just /nodock again. Right, i just automatically thought that there was somekind of cooldown on the /nodock. Two minutes is only long time, if you are flying a bigger ship. With small ships i could easily survive two minutes. Yet again, you could just reuse the command of course. RE: Official Factions and /nodock - Fish - 05-04-2017 I could see this making sense inRP, but this could be greatly abused and can cause a heap of trouble. I still voted yes though, because I'm feeling risky. PS. Old thread, is it still valid lol? RE: Official Factions and /nodock - Jack_Henderson - 05-04-2017 Seems I missed that poll. Voted: Yes. Giving factions more control over their bases makes sense and will promote interaction. Such a option would also make "official faction" status attractive. And: It would reduce the load of sanctionlancing because after e.g. a Freelancer carrying slaves docked on Java when caught by IMG and told not to dock would very likely find himself involved in the sanction/FR5ing process. Less of that, more interaction is imo pure win. RE: Official Factions and /nodock - Laura C. - 05-04-2017 This discussion is pointless anyway, considering this statement from page 2: (04-25-2016, 07:14 PM)Alley Wrote: sorry to ruin the fun but that's not happening. The technical aspect of it is already quite dubious and we're not looking to make something most likely unstable and prone to bugging. RE: Official Factions and /nodock - Alley - 05-04-2017 It may be something Alex could look into rewriting, but the real issue here is to define which ID may nodock what. While it's easy to make an initial list that engulf lists of bases per affiliation, there will still be some oddballs (a lot actually) and requires manual intervention and upkeep each time a patch is released. More RP potential for everybody. Though newbies might pose a problem. |
