RE: Official Notice - Development Team Strike - Moberg - 07-01-2016 This title and notice is misleading. The individuals on strike do not represent the dev team as a whole, and do this on their own will, be it because of their friendship with the banned, TS friends of the banned or otherwise. You should also be aware that developer rule #9 is still in place. The post shouldn't be in yellow. It is time we start arguing about this issue rationally. Threats are not helping anyone. RE: Official Notice - Development Team Strike - Omi - 07-01-2016 I cannot agree more with @Zephyranthes' post above. The same attitude of apathy and constantly sweeping stuff under the rug is exactly the kind of weak-kneed attitude that has allowed problems like these to become almost endemic. Each and every one of you calling for things to be "defused" or otherwise subject to calming measures is a shining example of how people who have nothing meaningful to contribute other than "I don't understand what is going on but I think it is bad" should keep their opinions to themselves. The previous approach of aggression and anger prompted their stonewall response, ignoring any and all feedback and complaints coming their way. They're content to sit there and reassure themselves that they did the right thing from how people were treating them. It's wrong, really, but neither side is in the right on how they're behaving. You're very good at picking up the thread at the point where it suits your position most. The "approach of aggression and anger" was in itself prompted by the exact same of arrogant, dismissive stonewall attitude which you're insinuating didn't exist beforehand - people, including myself, have tried time and time again to approach the staff in reasonable, polite, and open methods only to be met with contempt, sarcasm, and a general denial that anything is wrong in the first place. I believe that this is already the case. There is a subforum dedicated to appeals, where sanctioned players may request evidence and, if they so desire, provide their side of the story. Except for these six players, that is. And that's what I take issue with. While I do not disagree, a suggestion of rational arguement would be a lot more convincing if it wouldn't come from someone known to have quarrels with (at least) one of the six banned persons. Your response and stance isn't too surprising.

My hat off for you @"LordVipex" .. at least someone works for the sake of this server and not adding gasoline to the fire. All I ever saw you do is express contempt for not only the staff, but players too, basically towards everyone who doesn't do exactly what you want them to. Can you give any examples and evidence of your reasonable polite attempts to point out possible improvements? RE: Official Notice - Development Team Strike - Durandal - 07-01-2016 Please keep this on topic, @ RE: Official Notice - Development Team Strike - Petitioner - 07-01-2016 As a member of this strike, I would like to reiterate our goals, and to assuage some concerns that a couple folks have (rightfully) voiced. We are NOT doing this out of malice or in an attempt to destroy the mod. We ARE doing this because we think that we have no other choice to safeguard the mod's continued existence, as well as safeguard the integrity of our work on it. We DO understand the criticism that this could be harmful to the community, BUT we think that, on balance, this sort of action is entirely necessary and the administration team is forcing our hand. On a personal note, comments about "adding more fuel to the fire" are missing the point (to put it gently), and people making them ought to go and read the excellent post by @Zephyranthes a couple pages back regarding it. No. My post history is there for you to trawl through if you want. It shouldn't be too hard to find. |
