Piracy in Disco - Orin - 01-03-2009 The traders can still RP however they want, they just might get less RP in return. The pirate's RP means nothing with ooRP traders, since the trader will either run without a word, forcing the pirate into little to no RP if they want to get anything done, or get opened up on without a word, which in every other case is a santionable offense. Not for traders. OoRP traders create ooRP pirates. Fix the real problem and you'll fix most of these pirates you speak of. But neither can or will happen, so quit complaining. There's no real reason. Piracy in Disco - Furball - 01-03-2009 ' Wrote:Thing is, pirates can ignore OoRP traders, traders can't ignore OoRP pirates...the pirates have the guns... Bingo!! It would be pointless and hypocritical for me to comment about "Pirates" unless I was one. So I parked the Adv Train, made a character, and became a Lane Hacker. Some good RP Pirates out there. Too bad they are: The few, the proud and the sometimes poor. First off, it "is hard" to be a pirate. Everything is RED everywhere and I had to turn the damned battle music off! Second: Because everything is hostile, situational awareness is a different ball game which took me some time to get used to. Third: Things happen fast & anything on system chat says to all "Pirate! Come and get him!" You are looking at the scanner, victim, NPC's in a hostile battle-group, Chat, trade window, others in your group, others in their group, typing . . . and trying not to get "pissed off" with an OORP-trader-Lawyer. There is more I am certain, but I went "broke" and trashed the character. I make a lousy Pirate, not because I do not Role-play, it's because I Role-play and was getting a stroke as a crook! I would rather (gladly) pay a pirate and trade. I make money still. For Traders: 1) Respond "fast" with anything that fits RP. (example: Hola Corsair!) Make the Pirate know you acknowledge his "role" and you are not being "pissy". Get to know your pirates on your route. (Bad, Good or indifferent) This can save you game cash! Talk to them before you get to the damned system (remember how to scan ahead with those Disco scanners or just looking at who's where?!) Role-Play can start before you even see a pirate. I Pay Udo Ackermann every time he pops up and I have never seen his damned ship!!! (He Roleplays great is why.) 2) If you have a Corsair gunboat (or a wing of them) pointing guns at you, they have IMG IFF and weird tags. Do us a favor, Take a damned screen shot and report it. I hope the next mod update makes it hard to get a Cap-ship, with Nomad turrets, for that GMG IFF Pirate sitting in the Baltimore shipyard drydock robbing and shooting players. 3) If you run around with a ton of credits: Even though it may be OORP to look at a players level, it can't be helped. If you have lots of money, just pay. It's a game. 4) Stop giving "kids" large hand-outs so they can get an Corsair Gunboat or Outcast Cruiser that destroys everything . . . including RP . . . and maybe "YOU"! For Pirates: 1) Stop giving "kids" large hand-outs so they can get an BH Gunboat or Liberty Cruiser that destroys everything . . . including RP . . . and maybe "YOU"! For All: 1) If you are docked and safe, go to private chat and try to be a mentor/teacher to Bad Pirates and/or Bad traders. Get someone to help on the other side like a Veteran RM, Corsair or BAF player to chat with the player in question. (Remember, sanction is not a goal . . . unless the player is an idiot!) Get confirmation from another player: " Yes, I tried too. . . but he IS an idiot! " (Take Screen shots) ;) Thing is, as said before by Johann Brunhild (A good Player who is also a babysitter in Rhineland often) . . . those that really need to read this thread, don't even visit the forum. Why should they. They did: "Plz! gives me moneis so i can buys a GB plz!! :-) " They are way too busy shooting players in game with something they did not really earn the right to have. Piracy in Disco - ... kur nubÄ—go? - 01-03-2009 The big problem in Piracy rp is one thing: I cant type so fast to rp and chase a fleeing trader at one time. In these cases you need just to say 2mln or die, and then chase, why?... Becouse rules says no killin untill demanding. And of course that "2mln or die" kills almost all possible RP. And then you demand to halt, they dont this thing forces you to elave talkin and start acting... Piracy in Disco - Kambei - 01-03-2009 I saw you VILKAS in action dude ... 4 sair toolboxes and one bomber and all what your party said was "4 milions or die" when he (trader) wasnt responding few seconds your second --we can call it- sentence was "engage" pew pew and RP was done;)I was observing your gunboat group more than 30 minutes and I saw 4x "4 milions or die" in line and once only "engage" because some poor guy was red to you and all 4 gunboats was in great danger so it was needed to attack him all togeather. Dont tell me you havent enough time to say much more if you are in overkill party able to stop and kill BS. You and whole your group my friend doest know what does it mean RP... especialy not while piracy. I sugest you jump into your powertrader char and move your ship from NB into Liberty and do few loops thru Magelan into Bretonia, hackers will show you some RP in piracy (most of time). Im not doing piracy anymore (until 4.85 come out) so i cant do it for you. Piracy in Disco - jimmy Patterson - 01-03-2009 ' Wrote:I'll say this as an experienced pirate: Its because we want to piss off some diamond/niobuim Adv.Train powertraders.ok so i run thru sig 13 not power tradeing heck military vehicles(from bonn to myoko)and passagers(from NT to hegoland)gets me 7 and 9 mill im just sick of being called a lolwut power trader and getting hit 4-6 once even 7 mill! so il lsay it clearly I AM NOT POWERTRADEING AND AM FULLY CAPABLE OF ROLEPLAY the ships lucky seven its crewed by a semi indepened t computer(rp ji s training an ai to fly his ship as hes a military officer and cant risk himself thpo with escourt he wil lfly sometimes) Piracy in Disco - Vince - 01-03-2009 I am Afraid like independants cause problems and destroy reputations for the relevant factions, so some traders has caused pirates to be alot more violent and alot less RP. Like it has been said so many times in this thread, many traders are just not interrested in RP. And when you try and engage them in RP, you get nothing back. I have come to a point now that I ask once, with a nice RP line, and if I dont get anything back I just blow the guy up. No sense in waisting time. I will also add that in sigma's, 41 and 5, I have hardly come accross any RP traders. They are just in too much of a hurry to make money. Especially those that when you shoot them, place a large bounty on all corsairs. I do however agree with the OP. There is some places you shouldnt be pirating at. But most of this is in the Traders hands..not the pirates. Piracy in Disco - Zig - 01-03-2009 ' Wrote:I will also add that in sigma's, 41 and 5, I have hardly come accross any RP traders. Guess our hiatus from scouring Gamma for eligible bounties isn't going to be as long as expected. Just an aside. Piracy in Disco - Weedalot - 01-03-2009 hello. so much replies so much good points. I am an outcast and dragon and in none of those groups but you still like to call it "Outcasts" there are newbie players in anyfaction and more important there are many Newbie Traders as this is they way we all begin.Corsairs in 13 use over forced pirating with many GB's and still no RP. i believe there were a post about CD and SN mound not long ago to make pirating easy and i replied /setmsg easy command can be changed and you wont have to type fast while fired upon Another thing Traders you have to RP dont fire just becouse you got stoped. you can loose your vessel much more in credits than cargo if you do see the RP point of view wich should be the only one to Corsairs in GB's pirating might be a way to makew some moneyt btut it supose to be most RP so enjoy it and let the trader enjoy as well yes i was pirated many times when its RPed it is fun for me as well. now one last thing , take the time to explain the new players what they need to do and help them out point them the right way we all were noobs one day hack some stay like that for a long time some just dont like rules those who dont needs to be treated. Thank you all Weed. edit: oh yea dont pirate near bases its not gonna work and its poor RP, dont always RP the bad pirate you can somethims ask for donations and let the trader deside yes many pay even more believe me CCS gets alot of funds by donations on regular bases from known traders who get passage and protection. well i have alot more to add but you can see what i am saying so *Weed shut up alred* ok ok:) Piracy in Disco - Saigo.Watanabe - 01-03-2009 I have to admit the problem with oorp traders and pirates is out of hand but unfortunately I have to stay in those areas and if I am lucky I would get at least a couple of traders who will rp. Never seen me complain. Anyway people say oorp pirates make oorp traders (or the other way around) well mabye it's all about first Impressions upon entering the server, the lack of a rolemodel... Heck I know I would of ended up a oorp person if kuraine didn't pick me up in Hokkaido and showed me how to rp and to register on the forums. Mabye we need more people who can rp well in those areas? Cause I know in most cases good rpers avoid them if possible. Anyway that's it for me until I think of something to say, Saigo Piracy in Disco - Zygoeths - 01-03-2009 Um... usually pirates are at jumpholes and jumpgate you know... pirating. |
