It becomes a problem when the people who are donating suddenly have a lot of influence on whats being developed. If you feel like you can set up something for donations without letting it influence your work, then go for it.

I think that summed it up quite well, especially seeing as how unstable some people are in this community.

This is actually the best idea ever, thank you for that! I just registered there, it's a great little platform that allows donations AND allows me to upload pictures into my gallery, share videos and post things!

Link to my page: https://ko-fi.com/G2G1V75L

It's basically paypal donations (much appreciated to anyone willing to donate).
It also has the option for "project fundraising" (like, if I start making a more time-consuming project, a fundraiser with a set goal can set me up so I can invest the time needed and have my food costs covered).

I will post a poll for the community to vote on some of the projects that I want to undertake. This way, everyone gets to vote (doesn't matter if they donated or not).

- Discussion thread.
- Ignores all objections and picks out only the comments that mildly agree with him. (only 10% of the posts)
- Sets it up
- Profit

It is called ‘selective reading ‘.

The problem is, is this the opening of ‘Pandora’s Box’?

I am concerned about this too.

RE: Patreon for a dev - discussion thread - Chuba - 05-09-2019

this is ridiculous.

this is by far the worst thing i've read on forums in a while, this was never approved before for a reason, even when the game had a bigger player base. Stop reading posts that you like and address the many problems that will come out of this. If you are struggling with time or you have very little motivation left, find someone else who will do it. zzz

Same here honestly
It's his creativity
Rickla - DWR|Today at 3:11 PM
And it's up to him to ask for donations
Rickla - DWR|Today at 3:12 PM
I would actually do it even without asking anyone else if I were him

By doing this while you're still a dev you've effectively monetized dev bias, despite the overwhelming criticism in this thread.
