comms logAs the Faction Leader, I have read all the posts about this little "Incident," and yes, I also see it as weird to put a Human Traffic Element into this RP, especially since the game Abolished Slavery just some Patches Ago.
Still, I can tell you that OS&C Members who take place at the Event will follow the Rules of the Event, even when they don't Like them.
This is a Game and Shall be an Escape of Reality. I, for my part, have Enjoyed this Event so far. It's so rare that we get an OS&C Themed Event that I can Overlook the Kidnapping part.
I hope you wont take it too much against OS&C what happend today.
PS: and, of course, Every Attack on an OS&C ship will Cause an entry on our Bounty Board. These are the Proper RP Consequences after all.

why? it was literally written into the event that the incentive is for pirates to look for passengers.

Its wierd because it is not mentioned what happens with these Passengers. From a RP Standpoint a Capitan would not give up his or her passengers. If that would come to light then it would mean a Severe Public Scandal that can destroy a Companies Reputation. I understand from a Gameplay Perspective that they want to have a Way for the Pirat to count the Points. But its not mentioned what then Happens with the Guests. I was Pirated the other Day and had to give up 2 Cabins. That are in Lore ca 200 Passengers. Will they be enslaved? Or Ransomed for money? What do the Brigands and the UC Do with them.
And Exactly this is what makes it Wierd.
This will also be the LAST thing i as the Faction Leader Say about this. If @Ramke as the Effected Player wants to Discuss this Further then i will Gladly do this. But i will do this in a Private Message over Discord or other Channels.

It is written here. They are being held as hostages because the Corse paid them to do so, then arrange a fake "rescue operation" to boost their own reputation. In other words, they'll be set free after a detour.
The only thing I'd like to request as feedback is to avoid the OOC messages insinuating that the roleplay is "sicko" after an encounter. It paints a bad image of the faction, especially since this stems from the fact that people just haven't read the roleplay posts and assume the worst, then take it out on the players.

Well that's the whole point of roleplay, innit. You can write whatever you want about what happens to them. It's not set in stone. It's a passenger event with a conflict added to it because it'd be boring without actual conflict and threats of piracy throughout the event. Regardless; you can think and write about whatever happens to them as much as you'd like. Who knows, and that's what makes roleplay fun, and the 'canon' fluid.

hi, I was the other person pirating. I, too, am an affected player.
My feedback is that pirates have all the power in these situations and have no incentive to explain to their, let me emphasise this, victims, where they go and what they do with what they pirate. It makes no sense inrp for them to explain step-by-step what will happen. These are details that realistically would be passed on to law enforcement and could compromise their operation.
My other feedback is that I don't think you should shut down a discussion the instant anything even remotely negative is implied after your faction member oorp accuses people of, quote, "sicko roleplay" (roleplay completely in-line with the event), then get a single argument in response that might put your point a little bit in question.
Just my 2 cents. Have a nice day.

Okay, first of all, how should I have known that you were affected? Around 5 people have posted in here today, and the only one that I know was 100% affected by this was @Ramke. The others posted Memes or other things. Second of all, this is not a Discussion Channel as I said before. If you and Ramke have the need to discuss this further and talk about it then please be our Guests at the OS&C Discord . This is an option that is open to Everyone and offers a better Avenue of Communication than the Forums. I am Willing to discuss this with you all day if necessary.
Third. If that was not Clear from my Statement as Faction Leader already, I, as head of OS&C, apologize for what happened. And I do this on Behalf of OS&C. This is not our Standard, and I had a Talk with the member who caused this Incident already. This was already solved internally, and the Player who caused this made a Statement of his Own. It was not my Intention to "Shut down" a Discussion just because it was a Negative one that showed that OS&C did something Wrong. If what I wrote made you believe that I had this intention, then I want to tell you that I am sorry.
