if you want to fix up the recon cruisers textures (theres a spiral one on it which deletes the framerate of 'relatively' modern PCs) we can get it out there
otherwise it's too low quality and dabs on older rigs and will never see the light of day if it's not cleaned up and doesnt receive a quality texture

Special ships should stay special. As much as I would love a Satsuma for Orbital, I acknowledge that it doesn't make much sense lore-wise. I do like the idea of having these models in-game as solars, dockable or not, to show them off to players. I remember how special it felt to see players flying capital ships for the first time, and that would help to recapture some of that magic. If you see someone with one of these rare ships, you know it means something important is going down.

Wait, someone said ppl were paying real money for SRP ships? In game that is more than a decade old?
Guess having unmasked and unscared Kylo Ren skin for full pre-order price in Battlefront 2 is much more better investment, comparing with this...

I think the incentive is that, unlike other games, you can get something that is customized to your taste.

However at least in the case of the Persephone and probably all the others they are harshly under used. I think they should be for the benefit of all players, even if seen by but not necessarily used or accessible by all.
My faction mates might not like me saying this, but how our Persephone is not used is a joke. It has 2 minutes logged on it this month. Looking at TAZ activity maybe theirs never got un-docked at all, I have no idea. And that's sort of my point, Most players only know these ships exist from old wiki entry's and forum posts but have never seen one in game.
On a side note, i was able to fly the Perse a few times a few years back and... it was a finicky pain in the arse to try and fly.
i like @Typrop's idea about 'inspired by' derivatives that are simpler, lesser versions made for public use. Hell, with the right RP, time and co-operation from Phoenix someone could probably achieve getting a 'derived from' version of it... in theory. they'd need a modeller to make the model though.

This is the original 'request' TAZ made for the 'actual' Persephone Blueprints to Phoenix 7 years ago. SMI-Great-Fox made it to me and Quiron at Shasta I believe. So I will have to correct you on that. If TAZ had it first why did they need us to fly it? I know there was some complicated mess with Jinx? over ownership, but that was a long time ago.
At any rate this has been a good topic. Im glad to say we've been discussing it in our Discord and hopefully we will be seeing the Hyperion more often.

The Lib Recon Cruiser should be fixed up, perhaps out right remade to a better standard whilst remaining visually the same, and given to the corsairs to replace the Murmillo. There isn't anything stopping the devs from making ships exclusive now days and the Murmillo is the least 'Sair looking ship in their lineup. It'd make the most sense over giving Liberty am aesthetically corsair ship. Or we could start "Sair BC when" memes or somthin. ¯\_(0_0)_/¯
