I'd be very surprised if it won't be the same and Zoners don't actually win with their sudden influx of throwaway chars that will inevitably happen ![]() I won't be there to find out either way due to IRL reasons. Just slap on a Zoner ID and IFF for the event to show your allegiance. Someone needs to be held accountable, and they will be. Enjoy your democracy, because Justice is on it's way. RE: [Official Event] Operation Pesticide - Chenzo- - 05-21-2023 I’ve always wondered why ‘Freeport’s’ are allowed to INRP exist as unlawful factions use them within house space. Erie is a planet size freeport. It stands to reason that all Freeport’s will be hunted down after this event? (Regardless of who wins?) RE: [Official Event] Operation Pesticide - Darius - 05-21-2023 (05-21-2023, 09:05 AM)Chenzo- Wrote: I’ve always wondered why ‘Freeport’s’ are allowed to INRP exist as unlawful factions use them within house space. Freeports aren't hunted down because Zoners are both incredibly good fighters and because they serve as neutral meeting grounds for all factions regardless of allegiance. This is why Freeport 1 was kept, this is why Freeport 11 (more or less) was kept, etcetera. Houses don't overtly attack Zoners nor should with the sole exception of attempting to wrestle control of their planets from them, as has happened to Gran Canaria, and now Erie. RE: [Official Event] Operation Pesticide - Swifty - 05-21-2023 OK, one thing is the border worlds, like the Omegas where they are resident and are free to be neutral to everyone and their mothers and another is Pennsylvania, not a border system and one that is under Liberty control. All of that equals to 0 the moment they decided to abuse the privilege and take enemies of Liberty on their grounds. Its quite easy, because Houses don't give a rats ass about their neutrality or motives when their security is at stake. As we say at home, "you've made your bed, now you'll sleep in it." Good luck. RE: [Official Event] Operation Pesticide - Chronicron - 05-21-2023 I wonder which side will have a Titan ship that will purposefully sacrifice itself this time around. Certainly never happened before. Nope. Not even a little bit. Delaware certainly isn't real. RE: [Official Event] Operation Pesticide - Lemon - 05-21-2023 Oh yeah I guess the plan is to have Zoner carrier sacrifice itself, get killed and then Penns to revolt and unite because of the brutality - copy pasta ftw. I still think Zoners will win in game in practice though unless the titans will be skewed, even though it makes completely zero sense heh RE: [Official Event] Operation Pesticide - Kherty - 05-21-2023 Okay, so, Gran Canaria but à la Liberty. Alright, but what even is the objective of such an event? What's its objective in the narrative? I fail to see how suddenly having Erie, even when it was broadcasted a long time ago, go up in flames and have that loose organization that are Zoners behave as if they're one solid group, which, in my opinion, doesn't make much sense. It would be funny though if it ends up being a failure for Liberty. And as Lemon said, I believe the end is a tad too obvious, no? In the end, maybe it is a stepping stone to cripple the Zoners more, even if they win. I suppose it will go like "the Zoners won but lost X people and fighters and stuff and oh the flagship is permanently damaged and needs to be scrapped" or something, making them the loser in the end. Especially if they win, does Erie gain independence? Well, another steamroll by Liberty - on the Zoners this time, because no government would allow that to happen in the narrative, and the overwhelming majority will play on Liberty's side (not that it's a wrong thing of course). I will participate, but I feel it is a very questionable development for Liberty, especially knowing the recent developments in Sirius at large. In the narrative, the "Zoner insurgency" on Erie lacks solid evidence I believe, making this intervention seem unwarranted, unless I missed something. If that's the case, my apologies for my oversight. By the way, "Pesticide" is an awful codename for a military operation. Who knows, we will see it when it'll happen I suppose. RE: [Official Event] Operation Pesticide - Tenshi - 05-21-2023 Y'all can call me a professional copium inhaler here but I'm going to say it, I really like this style of event. An inRP briefing from some important dude as the event write-up? Hell yeah man count me in. Not only is the write-up amazing and succeeds in putting you at the role of a low/med ranking officer listening to a debriefing but it's an event that also makes sense and is the natural outcome of all those Pennsylvania Zoner shenanigans that have been taking place for months now - if not more. I am only hoping that this doesn't turn into Insurgency 2.0 where we get to see "The final weeks of Liberty's reign over Pennsylvania have begun" everytime we log for the next year. Good sauce Reeves (or whoever came up with that idea & write-up), it's highly unfortunate that I will not be able to attend the event because I'll be at work. |
