Okinawa Event #2: Isehara Terraforming Platform I Sat 9 15:00 GMT - Ortog - 05-23-2009 Quote:The goal is quite simple Hogosha needs to bring as much firepower as they can to overwhelm all the forces GMG were able to muster for Isehara's defence. Well, they didn't get the forces, it was unfair on them but war is never fair and rarely balanced. Next time maybe they will show up in greater numbers. Okinawa Event #2: Isehara Terraforming Platform I Sat 9 15:00 GMT - Friday - 05-23-2009 Well gee, perhaps if more than one Hogosha could be bothered to show up we wouldnt have this problem now would we? There were twice as many Corsairs again sitting in Gamma. We expected them to come yet they didnt. The attacking force could plainly see how many people were stacked against them in Okinawa, yet they still chose to attack. It is not up to us as defenders to call it off. Kudos to them for making the effort. Furthmore, if you have no intention of being a part of these events, then you have no business being here. Grow up. Okinawa Event #2: Isehara Terraforming Platform I Sat 9 15:00 GMT - Hawkwings - 05-23-2009 I happened to see a quote at the beginning of this page that I believe is quite applicable. "No one disagrees with wars that they are winning"-Johnpeter So I suppose it was naive of me to expect any recognition of wrongdoing on the part of the GMG, Ronin, or Sentai players. Silly me, I guess. Prowler, you gave a lame excuse and you know it. "Oh, well I *thought* there'd be a lot of them, but actually, we massively outnumber them. I'm going to proceed along my previous assumptions and ignore all decency and fair play." What should have happened? RP some reason for people to sit out. For example, "Blood Dragons! Chugoku is being raided by the KNF! Go back, we must defend our home!" etc. I hope you realize that simply expressing your wish to be defeated by a swarm of enemies is not a way to fix the situation. Here's what is: Having a fair fight where both sides are evenly balanced. And Friday, you make a valid point. Perhaps I will get involved in this event then. Okinawa Event #2: Isehara Terraforming Platform I Sat 9 15:00 GMT - ProwlerPC - 05-23-2009 I just read, ummmm....the conditions were talked about and agreed upon awhile back. I thought it was commendable that the 4 still decided to come in and "get their whooping" as stated in the agreement. The option was to disqualify and hand the win to GMG side willingly. I had postponed the event because a high ranking member in Hogosha appealed to me privately. It was postponed despite that I warned both sides in the agreed discussion that they need to show because a disqualification due to no show counts as a loss. We want Okinawa's development finnished, show up if you want to stall the operations and ultimately weaken GMG's control of the system. We've been outnumbered by huge numbers before, I didn't think it would be so difficult to get those numbers now. I wonder......maybe a couple transports loaded with Diamonds will convince those numbers to come back and challenge us again. Okinawa Event #2: Isehara Terraforming Platform I Sat 9 15:00 GMT - Semeagol - 05-23-2009 The event was schedulled with enough time so both sides could manage to rally ppl to join, wasn't it?!? If one side had the advantage of 4 to 1, it's not their problem and it's not them who have to worry about that..... To Hawkwings: if you are too upset with the result of this event or how it was done, next time join one of the sides rather beeing here winning!!!! Sounds like your the one that needs to grow up. I was there as the 1 Hogosha along with 3 OPG allies, at the point where the GMG and Blood Dragon forces could see there were only 4 attackers, the Blood Dragons could have chosen not to get involved, but still they did, not only that but mercenaries and freelancer were also involved when they did not need to be there. The reason we fought is because as an event had been agreed, it was only fair that someone on our side turn up. The GMG side could have shown a little more sportsmanlike behaviour for the very fact that we didn't tell everyone to forget about the event altogether. I also do not appreciate the threat of TAZ getting involved as they are not enemies of the Hogosha they should stay neutral and also the game states that the Hagosha have influence in both Sumura and Kishiro so they should be neutral. Okinawa Event #2: Isehara Terraforming Platform I Sat 9 15:00 GMT - Hawkwings - 05-23-2009 You want to make RP changes even whem the events count as "disqualified" because the other side doesn't show? I know! I'll make an event then, faction A vs faction B, and schedule it so that all my faction A players are on, and no faction B players are online. Then, when they don't show, I'll count it as a win for my side and move on! If you want to keep having lopsided fights, then don't make it straight up PVP. Have some accomplishable objective for the smaller side that doesn't involve wiping out the larger side. @ Semeagol: I am not upset at the result of the event. I am upset at the way it was conducted, which is an OOC matter. Therefore, I am addressing it OOC. I wasn't there, I don't even have any character on either side. I just think that it's lame of you to vex a victory just because one of the parts didn't had the same numbers of ships then the other side. If they only manage to rally 4 ships they had 2 choices attack and play with their odds or don't atack and give up on the event. the outcome wasn't favorable to the Hogosha but they showed honor and they should be preized for that. What you are doing with your postes is to deprive them of their honor by winning about the 4 to 1 disadvantage. Okinawa Event #2: Isehara Terraforming Platform I Sat 9 15:00 GMT - Hawkwings - 05-23-2009 This "honor" thing has no place in what I'm talking about. I am talking about OOC fair play and sportsmanship, which apparently is not lacking simply in NY lolfleets. Pardon me, Tomodachi, but I was one of the two Freelancers (Jun Okazaki, the other was JakeSG, Gabe Scalene) you refer to and the person that shot you down. I became involved solely because I was personally contacted by a GMG representative that informed me that they were expecting a massive Corsair assault and specifically asked me for assistance in exchange for a very generous salary. Naturally, I accepted, and took Jake along with me, as we were busily cleaning up Liberty's Xeno presence together at the time. My presence during this event was wholly warranted and not at all divorced from roleplay, as you seem to suggest. Yeah, it's unfortunate that so many foes of the OPG and Hogosha made an appearance to bash your heads in, and yeah, I feel somewhat guilty about gunning down what, in effect, became half your force; though this may be an accepted tactic elsewhere, it's never been with me. Next time, I assume a more careful estimate of player presence on each side of an event will be made. |
