Sexy pictures, violent avatars and (ok, far-fetched) stories. - Thexare - 06-09-2009 ' Wrote:2) If it's outright porn, it's not allowed here for obvious reasons. Scantily clad women don't qualify as porn, and it's not exactly like you can't see much of that anywhere else...The other day at work, a woman came in wearing what amounted to a bra and a skirt. Even signatures here wear more than that. Sexy pictures, violent avatars and (ok, far-fetched) stories. - Blackvertigo1 - 06-09-2009 pornography Listen to the pronunciation of pornography Pronunciation: \-fē\ Function: noun Etymology: Greek pornographos, adjective, writing about prostitutes, from pornē prostitute + graphein to write; akin to Greek pernanai to sell, poros journey more at fare, carve Date: 1858 1 : the depiction of erotic behavior (as in pictures or writing) intended to cause sexual excitement 2 : material (as books or a photograph) that depicts erotic behavior and is intended to cause sexual excitement 3 : the depiction of acts in a sensational manner so as to arouse a quick intense emotional reaction <the pornography of violence> >.> Sexy pictures, violent avatars and (ok, far-fetched) stories. - n00bl3t - 06-09-2009 Just a quick, slightly related question here. Does an NPC say "bastard" in-game? Sexy pictures, violent avatars and (ok, far-fetched) stories. - JakeSG - 06-09-2009 Dunno, but the President says 'Bitch'. It's all about context, but even then it should not be said in game, and to a minimum on the forums. Regarding the stories, I'd say it's fine so long as there's no pictures and there's warnings in headers/topic titles, like one of Dreygon's about Mon'Star which I believe has a mature content warning? Sexy pictures, violent avatars and (ok, far-fetched) stories. - Walker - 06-09-2009 Yes they do, the game is also rated T for Teen. There is also the fact that in Singleplayer, people are killed, they are shot infront of you and even murdered... And the fact is that you can say that every time as a pirate you kill that civ NPC passing by, your murdering somebody. So what if the avatar relates to a movie where actors fake-dieing... You find that disgusting? Your playing a game where there are drugs that will cause an addiction and reliance so dangerous that you will die a horrible death without it, where you can technically murder a civilian, or break the law. Heck even some stories, I've never read Mon'Star the Red but according to Dreygon its rated "R" - He goes out and says it, its your choice to view that and click on it and read it, even after the warning is delivered. You have a choice, while in-game if somebody did rivers of blood or whatever you don't. Effectively, I won this thread. Chestbump time. Frankly, I dun get what's so wrong with calling other chars bastards. I do it tons of times to many different people's chars, and noone ever complained. I regularly fly into battle shouting 'Your ass is grass' and what's wrong with it? Ban me, or gimme a break already with the incessant theoretical whinging. *chestbumps Walker* There you go. Sexy pictures, violent avatars and (ok, far-fetched) stories. - Walker - 06-09-2009 In the spirit of this thread, I kinda might agree that your signature might be a bit questionable... Sexy pictures, violent avatars and (ok, far-fetched) stories. - Regret - 06-09-2009 Can the OP please post those naughty pictures that enraged him? Sexy pictures, violent avatars and (ok, far-fetched) stories. - NerdRage - 06-09-2009 The truth is, by the time someone is 10 and has access to the internet, they probably have seen more than you think, and know more than you think also. (see rulez 34 and 35, and consider the sheer amount of posabilities, and the chance of a youngster stumbling onto it) Sexy pictures, violent avatars and (ok, far-fetched) stories. - Seth Karlo - 06-09-2009 Woah! *Runs in with a fire extinguisher and gives everybody a good dousing.* Much better. Now, my story of Salazar has sex scenes, murdering, massacres, rape... And I put Nc-17 in the title. I think that's acceptable when it comes to stories. In the UK, the game is rated a 15... I've seen movies with the same tag that have women naked (Doc Hollywood), tons of swearing (die hard films.. In fact, most films with a 15 tag), women being melted over a fire by lunatics (can't remember the name...) However, Disco has actually dropped the rating down imo. The main thing the high tag was for was that you were killing people ingame. Now you can tractor in escape pods, so you're really not killing anything anymore. However, you did have to buy the game, which has said rating... I think we're being a tad over the top when it comesti protecting our kids from stuff. So I think that the things in this forum are both not as bad as they could be, and the rules should be relaxed. If it's not offensive, I don't personally see a problem. Seth |
