New Kusari Bomber - Jinx - 07-22-2009

maybe 10% larger overall - and it can become the "next generation of bombers" in kusari. - the shape is OK - it offers a fair front profile and definite size to hit from other angles.

many a kusari players would need to learn from the scratch though. - instead of an agile and light bomber - they d get a challenger style heavy bomber.

once you have hardpointed it - you can submit it so we can find a rebalance for it ... if its to replace an existing bomber. ( and i m not sure if it should replace both, the BD and the KNF bomber ) - we can move away from pretending they are of the same tech line. - this can well be the next kusari bomber, while the BD will still fly the old one. - they d be a good match.

the BD bomber light and agile, the new kusari bomber a capship killer. - and no, i don t think kusari should have two ( light and heavy ) bombers. - one bomber is fine, and this model is of a higher quality so its logical to replace.

Thanks Jinx, appreciate the input:)I'll make that size increase and go ahead with the hardpoints.

Ok, so I would like to officially submit this model, but I have a couple questions. I built it in 3ds Max. The textures are all *.tga files extracted from the original Kusari textures. I'm having endless trouble getting the model AND textures into MilkShape and then into HardCMP as I don't really know what I'm doing.

Wondering if anyone can give me some tips here or point me in the direction of a good tutorial?

I really appreciate all the input while building this, especially from Hawkwings who made me rebuild it a dozen times:Dbut I'm not going to make any more changes, except changes suggested by the dev team of course.

So basically I have no idea what to do next and haven't been able to find a good tutorial:P

Thanks a ton!

EDIT: Oh, and we'll call it the Wyvern pending approval!

Just one thing thats nagging me, the fans should be purple, as per the dragon/drake.

Apart from that, 'tis a very nice model.

There's something odd about that, I *think* once it goes in game they will change. For some reason even when I view the Chimaera like this with textures they're the same color.

New Kusari Bomber - Montezuma/Kukulcan - 07-23-2009

Well, it looks more Kusari-ish than the current one (no offence to its creator).

On a second look, the zig-zaging of the fans is a bit to steep, maybe flatten them out a bit, just a thought...

awesome sauce, cant wait to blow it up, down to kusari!

If it uses original Kusari textures, it shouldn't have its own mat file (material library), but use the Kusari mat. Unfortunately, I'm no modeller myself. I would advise you ask Angel of Mercy or Doom.
I'm not sure how far did Jinx come with regards to using original FL mat files - if far enough, you'll probably get an answer from Jinx here. You can PM Jinx to get a faster answer as well...
