I don't get why people so desperately want shorter fights... I think the length is perfect right now. Even if you decrease the Bot/Bat count, increase gun speed/whatever fights will still be long. When I fight in a Light Fighter I virtually never get hit, and it takes ages for me to kill my opponent. But I enjoy that, it's way more fun than when I fight someone, hit them with a SNAC or Mini Razor after five minutes.

I have the endurance to fight non stop for three hours or more. Don't nerf my fun just because you can't/don't want to...

It's not that I don't have the endurance. It boils down to one of two things:

A) I have low PvP skills, and die often and fast, when I fight. (Exceptions are cap fights)

B) I only have a few hours that I can play on Friday nights, and that's when the server shuts down for a reboot. I don't enjoy spending about half of my time for the week in a single dogfight and then the server shuts down.

Imagine if you will a world in which people didn't trade bots and bats in fights. A world in which people couldn't rebuild their ship instantly when one more shot was about to take them out.

You heard me right. Buff them. Make them regen more, say 5000 points each. But at the same time, decrease the capacity to hold them on a ship. ALSO, increase the price to something around 50-100k per.

So, a LF might hold two of each, a HF 3, VHF 4, bomber 4-5, GB perhaps 30, a cruiser 80, and a dread/BS/carrier maybe 120. (Numbers subject to change, this was a brainstorm, not exact numbers, Zach D:)

This would accomplish several things: (SHH! Scott, listen already!)

-Shorter fights
-Less trading during said fights
-More traders (Gotta fund those pricey things)

But really, consider it. It might help just a bit. (You can all talk now)

Wait so what you are saying is that Boots batts should cost from 200 to 5000?

Well ... considering a gunboat uses 100% of his bats to regen his shield ... I support this idea. Why should a gunboat be penalized on the effectiveness of bats and bots? I mean really ... a gunboat's shield drops and he's got 1 chance to regen them ... they go down again and he's SOL. But look at the traders he's dealing with ... its like they never run out of bats.

WTF?

If Nanobots and Shield Batteries were 50k-100k credits, then how would tha newbiez survive with 8.5k? It just wouldn't work, and anyways, I think it makes it funner the way it is already.

However, I agree with Baltar, Gunboats use all their shield batteries in one burst, WTF? It really makes it feel unfair for the GBs. I don't think the regeneration capacities should be bigger but for the GB's etc, or the fighters/bombers for that matter but I think that GB's etc should hold more nano/batts
That's my opinion.;)

The server reboots every single day, 7 times a week... :blink:

I am aware of this, but I'm never on when it does so, excepting Friday nights.

For those of you beating on the price, drop it. As said by the OP, prices should be adjusted to a fair value.

For those of you that say 3 hour fights are fun, what about those of us that say 3 hour fights are not fun? Why should you take away our fun by keeping these 3 hour fights?

I agree. I don't think three hour fights are fun. Most people don't have time to fight for three hours, let alone the mental acuity. I certainly don't.

Larger battles usually last longer. I believe that players seeking long fights can, instead of prolonging them with excessive bottage, simply seek out larger fights.

Here's my idea: Using bots should disable your shield, similar to when a fighter jettisons cargo.
