Unless there is a new code name in this mod version I don't know about, I personally don't see the big fuss over code weapons. Almost all the houses and factions have their own weapons that are just as good, and sometimes better.
As far as code hunting, I like it. I used to have a character flying all around looking for loot in the wrecks. But anymore, so many are doing it now that it is almost impossible to find anything.

i found trying to code hunt isnt worth my time....by the time server is back up, my character out there, never gets anything.
