Nobody really uses the mk1 ships, well, not as their primary fleets anyway. Therefore the models are kept for a buffed version, so the vanilla models are kept and used. What this will end up as, is vanilla models being pretty much unused, because they have rubbish stats.
So therefore I can't give my approval, whilst the changes are largely subtle, and make sense, discovery is an expansion on vanilla, and I wouldn't want to see the vanilla essence being lost.

Good work on the modles, just keep them the same size and you get two massive thumbs up from me. I use a scimmy almost daily so it will be nice to have a change. Now, hit that wraith!
-edit- it isn't true that we don't use the vanilla modles. I have plenty of them that I use for RP and some rediculous PVP (defender with all stun pulses and a sunslayer ftw)

Gecko, I know your updated Griffin is your 'pet' but I much prefer the Hawk model to your new one.
As the the Scimitar, the modified version looks better, or at least more in keeping to the vanilla line. However, for those objecting to smooth version, can you actually see the nose in flight?

Ok, I'd like you to reserve judgement till you take a good long look at these;
(I do agree that the MK-I's could stand to be rebalanced too mind you, but Id like to see that done and see the MK-II models replaced as well.)
Once you have a good look and a bit of a think, then vote in the poll.
(No, there is no option to ask me to totally discontinue redoing MK-II's as I will be submitting the Griffin and several others non-house ones at the least. There is no leeway on that point short of dev/admin intervention, I apologize if this upsets anyone)
Also please keep in mind, I can, have, and will edit my prototypes based on input so if you are worried your favorite ship might not turn out *just* the way you want, theres no need to vote down the whole project.

I am going to start on Nighthawk's list of MK-II's he thinks should be replaced regardless of how the House-ship argument goes. The poll will run until I am done with those or for one week, whichever comes last.
If Option 2 wins then Ill finish the house line, if option 1 wins then I will just redo all the other MK-II's not on Nighthawk's list.
And remember, we aren't using the true vanilla models, because before Micro$oft got involved the Valkyrie had the sharpest downward canted wings. ever. of all time. (I was tempted to do the Wraith that way but decided not to be nearly so radical)

Nope, don't like the new wraith model, nothing against the new one I just like the old one better.
Actually, there is one thing you can do to the Wraith that I will support, in the early vertions of Freelancer the Wraith flew with its wings folded, visible in this video at 45 seconds in.

Make the Wraiths wings folded like that, and nothing else.
EDIT: Took a closer look at the new one, and I really don't like it the more I look at it.

Ooooh, I like this. Great job!
I say we should do this to all Mk II ships. It would add variety to the mod and keep the old ships as a reminder of the original Freelancer.
And Johann, can't you be a little flexible? Redo-ing the wings might satisfy you, but what about the rest of the community? I'm sure most of us want a change.

Honestly, I like the down-wings better because it presents a larger visual change.
Its easier to see that its a different ship.
(That and it looks amazingly good)
Frankly the wings are more than enough change for me, but if Johann consents we can also see what it would look like with my Wraith prototype-I cockpit too.
Im satisfied with either course. :)

Took a look at that trailer. Didn't like that ship at all, frankly.
I have a suspicion this will turn into a severe case of "can't please all of the people..."
