lol... nice analogy. Yea, i'm not going to use it, going back and making changes to the original right now, I like the model overall... just needs more spikes =P

I like the original too, its just too human in its original state.
That however is by no means a fatal flaw in the design ;) A little re-texturing (the windows especially seem overly human) and some more alien sleek/spikiness and it'll be alien before you know it.

I'll probably re-do the textures later once I'm satisfied with the model shape, maybe a bronze color...

In my opinion they look like small gunboats at the moment.
Mostly because of the huge turret mounts on top of the ship.

It's not meant to be much larger than a gunboat, it's a frigate-style ship (cross in size between a gunboat and light cruiser/destroyer). Limited to 6 turrets but smaller and more manuverable than other cruisers.

Bronze you say? perhaps the windows could be very very thin vertically and very very long laterally to accentuate the shape of the ship?
