Finally updated my pc - xxrockstar992xx - 09-19-2009 Quadro cards are not meant for gaming, They are a "stationary" card so to speak, Meant for gaming programing and what not, NOT FOR GAMING. And its sad that you still think ATI is better.. Prices are different where you live, Same for here. And rayne, Get a Nvidia, Not a ATI, You will like it a lot more. Your argument is biased. ATi cards have good track records, and are dependent on the series in question. Over a span of months I've had stellar performance with my 4850, as well with my X1600 Pro before that, and my 9800 Pro before that. To speak for what he will like more is foolish, you should be offering cold hard facts more than personal opinion here. So far I haven't seen you back up any of your claims. After that let your opinion flow, and don't take this as an attack.:) Finally updated my pc - xxrockstar992xx - 09-19-2009 If you looked more into the comparability between both cards, You will see the differance, I am mosltly just flaming because that other guy ( don't know name and frankly don't care) is completely underestimated the power of Nvidia, And then proving himself wrong by the *Specs* he posted. he is just going on what he read on a fourm website, As for me i have experience in both Nvidia and ATI. Sure ATI's are good, They gave good competition to Nvidia, But Nvidia has the best single GPU ( GTX 285) and Dual GPU (GTX 295/GTX 295 Mars) cards out. Sure with Dual GPU you get micro shuddering, have not fixed that yet. Also the Beauty of Nvidia is PhisX engine, for games as early as Mirrors edge to the new Section 8, This you won't get with ATI. By my experiences, and friends experiences, All their 4870's failed on them. Or did not respond well to overclocking. So far 4 4870's have failed, From friends, I'm waiting for number 5. ~ No attack Intended against you Turkish. You want proof?----http://www.pcgameshardware.de/screenshots/original/2009/04/HD4890-Crysis-Warhead-1280.png This will show that the GTX 1 gig model beats the 4890 OVERCLOCKED, At crysis warhead, ( more demanding that crysis). And that is only the 1 gig model. And what ever your name is, The 9800gt beats a 4850, And a 4850 beats a 4770, So again, you were WRONG! Finally updated my pc - rayne - 09-21-2009 Thanks for all the advice folks, decided to go with http://itdisti.com/productmain.asp?ID=481 Finally updated my pc - looqas - 09-21-2009 So you ordered it already? I urge you to look at 4770. It has none of the "problems" previous cards had. And it beats the heck out of 8600GT. (It beats the 9800 GT even). http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/video/dis...70_7.html#sect2 And it's something like 80 quids. http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct....rodid=GX-196-AS Finally updated my pc - xxrockstar992xx - 09-21-2009 HAHAHAHAHAHAHA, You notice the " OC " next to the 4770? Do you know what it means? if not ill tell you. it means overclocked. Even if those stats were true, Imagine the 9800gt Overclocked. And Their is no way in hell a 4770 beats a 4850, Even overclocked. And my 8800gt STOCK gets 90 FPS. Try again Finally updated my pc - McNeo - 09-22-2009 Im not going to combat your snide immature attitude with my own. I'll simply say that the reason your friends HD 4870's failed is because they had no idea what they were doing. Want to know why mine still works? Fan-speed hack in the early driver versions kept it from nuking itself. If you're not smart enough to save your own hardware by doing that, then you shouldn't be building your own computer from parts. Quadro cards are not meant for gaming, correct. But they can be used for gaming, to great effect if you're willing to shell out. Are Intel Xenon processors meant for gaming? Nope. Do people use them for gaming? Yep. Quadro cards are in the same boat for people who play games with high levels of memory requirements, usually caused by (but obviously not limited to) the anti-aliasing. As I said though, what are we discussing here, who has most beefy performance card or who has the best price/performance ratio at the mid-range level? I even quoted prices for you, but you really cant see it can you? You might try to be a little courteous in your arguements to people who are trying to be friendly (looqas here), before making yourself look a fool. But you'd know that if you had a little bit of common sense. I don't know why you picked the 8600GT, rayne. You could've gone better with either the ATi 4770 or the 4850, or even the 9800 GT. Its just frustrating when you meet a green fanboy these days, as you can see. Nothing but opinions and 'I know im right'. Makes me wonder if I'm playing Freelancer or World of Warcraft... Finally updated my pc - rayne - 09-22-2009 I did go with the ATi 4770 btw, I didnt order the nvidia card. Already have it installed now Finally updated my pc - looqas - 09-22-2009 ' Wrote:HAHAHAHAHAHAHA, You notice the " OC " next to the 4770? Do you know what it means? if not ill tell you. it means overclocked. If you are referring to the link I posted about the 4770 in xbitlabs. Sure the OC bar is there, but so is the factory defaults and it still beats 9800GT in almost every game. Sure there are nvidia strong games as well as ati strong games, but that's given. 4770 is a decent/good over-clocker. "Even if those stats where true?" It's not like they are the only ones doing these things. Go check any review site and you'll see similar results. Giving advice to mates is not about educated guesses and I have a feeling type of stuff. And it does not beat 4850 as you rightly discerned. BUT the point is that it's one heck of a card for 80 quids. And I think rayne made a very good deal. The only reason why I would hesitate getting any 4850 or 4870 over their nvidia counterparts is the cooler. The default cooler was not that good, so I'd look for a proprietary coolers or 3rd party ones on those. Sure the 8800GT can handle the Freelancer. That's not the question, but it would be nice for a video card to do well in other contemporary games too. And this is not about pro ati or nvidia. At least it's not to me. I ALWAYS GO FOR THE CURRENT BEST IN PRICE RANGE. I've have had nvidia card and ati card break down on me, so... Alright 1, look at some Other posts i made? it wasn't opinion. and 2, My friends don't know what their doing? you have no clue. I probably know the least about computers then they do. And think about it, if you have to use a hack to keep your card alive their is something wrong with it. Im done posting here, i honestly don't care when im talking to people who don't know shi- about computers, And then try to dis my friends. But its the internet, what do you expect. |
