Make that two death threats....

i am sorry to say that i completely dislike the first one. - the cockpit looks OK - and the rest looks like a random mess of meshes / faces.

keep in mind that this is totally subjective - and i have quite a different idea of aesthetics i think. - meshwise - the model is no improvement over the homeworld design i think. ( and i m sorry to say ) - to me it looks like a flying saucer that got into an accident.

the dacite ....

its very similar to the current KS HF - that impression comes from the twin intakes.... and well... have you ... errr.. changed much about the mesh?

in my opinion, the dacite might become something nice - if you elaborate the mesh - quite a lot. - in its current state ( which is rather early ) its no huge improvement over the homeworld mesh. - the light fighter ones .... i dislike quite a lot. ( but really, thats just my opinion and has little to do with the model quality - i just dislike the look )

The Dacite isn't finished, I intend to hold to a recognizably similar shape though.
I am not done with mapping/mesh detail work though by a long shot, the claw, cockpit, and intakes are done in terms of shape though. Its the back piece thats just serving as a fill in until finished.

The Basalt's shape is two-steps short of cemented, its mapping is if possible in even more need of help than the Dacite.

This is more or less 'concept sketches' because I can't do the paper and carbons bit to save my life.

The first one... its meant to be ugly. Aesthetically I want to to be one of Freelancer's less 'normal' and even less 'liked' ships in terms of shape. We don't have enough ugly ships to be blunt

(Aesthetics... yeah I can see how the first one clashes with your particular vein of design (based on ships of yours Ive seen) I tend to vary widely with my aesthetic styling based on what I am making the ship for. If I ever get around to the Renzu ships you'll see an entirely new side of my design leanings again. (unless some of the designs that were floating about out there finally got finished and submitted?))
