What is happening to us? - setsujoku - 09-22-2009 Maybe there are Pirates who are like you. But all me and my friends encountered in the last days after we started again playing here were Pirates who wanted 2 million from below level 50 empty transports. Pirates who killed you with or without cargo because you did try to run once. (who would not try to run once?) Pirates who kill you even when engaged by a police officer, because they know they can run afterwards ... Pirates who sat 2-4 Hours at the same spot not moving at all (because Police cares shiat or isnt present at all, or does not exist at all, or is raiding hostile houses instead of keeping order in their own systems) with a "STOP" already typed in and finger on CD, every time a Trader comes into scanner range. Thats no RP at all, but close to scamming ppl who want to play the peaceful way. the result is that people want to pirate too, because it seems much easier and much more peaceful, then the actual lawful behaviour. as is said before, most of you should rethink your own behaviour before blaming others. What is happening to us? - Blaze - 09-22-2009 there should be a rule like Pirating people below level 60 in not allowed or something like that What is happening to us? - setsujoku - 09-22-2009 I would like to see a rule that forbids anyone who is not in a player-controlled faction to Tax. Because most ppl just buy a decent ship, hack rep, buy id, then go lanesitting ... I want more high-qualified pirates, who really want to do RP and not behave like a bunch of bloodthirsty wolves! If you really need cash, you can always do trading. Theres absolutely no need for excessive taxing afterall. Because most ppl just buy a decent ship, hack rep, buy id, then go lanesitting ...And you are wrong! Both for the simple reason tha without pirates, the game is boring. A lot of people are doing their own roleplaying. If traders just don't get taxed anymore, the game loses its edge quite fast. I used to like it a lot and work hard to get the vash for the ships I wanted. Now I have them and things would get boring. But good thing there are pirates. In the beginning I didnt like getting taxed, but after all, the pirates are players too. They have to sit for hours in the spot. Do you think thats any fun to do ? Besides, what are a few millions, as a trader you earn it much faster then the pirates. Let them play their game. Also, if you decide to run, the pirates get the right to engage. Do you think if the game was real they'd let you run twice ? No, and in real life your life is more valuable then in RP... Not all RP should be reasonbale you know. ' Wrote:When I pirate on my various pirates, I don't demand money all the time. Some are insane insane and they just demands skin, hands, legs, etc. People don't realize that all they have to do is RP in order to survive. Just take a minute to type *Cuts off his hands and sends them to the pirate* and then they can go.What in the right mind would want anyone to cut off his hands??? Thats called space idleing with profit chances, and that should not be tolerated. Normally a pirate could never stay at the same position he taxed or killed a trader. because normally police would come to investigate .. but the police is afraid of pirates, because there a 4 times more pirates than police players. thats why there should be a limitation to pirates, as there is to nomads What is happening to us? - Aoyagi - 09-22-2009 ' Wrote:Pirates who sat 2-4 Hours at the same spot not moving at all (because Police cares shiat or isnt present at all, or does not exist at all, or is raiding hostile houses instead of keeping order in their own systems) with a "STOP" already typed in and finger on CD, every time a Trader comes into scanner range. And what is SO bad about this? There are places which are simply out of police influence. Traders tend to run. I don't want anyone to run since my damn Claymore is slow thing. And I can assure you that I have -no- profit from what I do. And that spot it not that frequented to keep me entertained. I do it because of RP. So, what's the problem about it? What is happening to us? - setsujoku - 09-22-2009 I dont talk about Omicron or Sigma Systems. All those things were happening in Systems like Colorado, California, Kyushu. Police Guarded Systems last time i checked ... What is happening to us? - Ayem - 09-22-2009 Simple answer: Make a police officer character and shoo them away. Try it out! You'll change your mind.. What is happening to us? - blubba - 09-22-2009 @ Setsujoku http://discoverygc.com/forums/index.php?showforum=55 For people who think being a pirate is boring, just check here and see how many pay big credits to hunt and kill these lane sitters. While your at it, have a look at the amount that has been claimed. Being a pirate is not easy. They sit on lanes that sometimes never see passing trade. They get engaged by huge numbers of law enforcers who hunt them relentlessly, everywhere and anywhere. Pirates don't generally pirate for cash, they pirate for RP. Interaction. Most of these guys have a trader who buys the gunship/pirate transport/bomber for them to get them started. That means they started the same way as you did. I admit that there are some bad examples, but believe me, thats true both sides of the legal fence and anyone who's been here a while knows thats true. |
