An Idea is Right Here.
Take Care when Doing this Idea.
Cuz then we can say Care! Bear!
Have another character called <Your character name>.bank
Store your money on that one.
Set up a withdraw cash code. dont' tell anyone what it is
Pull money from your bank when you need it.
This way you can continue trading. No prob.

An alternate way for you to keep trading = is to find things to invest in.
Give your money to player banks, or investment schemes.
Give it away?
Choose a faction that you want to see become official and donate the money to them?
Buy a whole bunch of sirius credit cards and make a textual / mental puzzle for other players to solve. When they do solve it, give them some credit cards?
Deliberately put yourself in positions of being pirated?

As I've said before I like to keep all of my money on one character so I can look at it (may sound wierd but it's true).

You could make Trivia.Machine and give spot cash prizes for the best reply about what XX rule is, or what's the component of a Hyena, or Where can Organics be found... etc. Asking harder and harder questions. The more harder and difficult a question is the more the prize!

I cap mine at around 1.5 billion.
Just keep on buying different ships to store them on. It's fun to build up a collection of a certain class of ships. (My collection is cruisers.)
