Yup great idea :yahoo:

For you it's great, for me... not so great, on the least extent.

There will be no wipes until January 2006. Then we'll return to this subject.

I do not think everyone is hearing what Igiss is saying. It would be too much work for Igiss to put back everyone's credit, no matter how it is shown, or given to him. He would have to manually enter hundreds of characters' stuff. That is way too much to ask from someone who already does so much. I think raising the starting money temporarily is a good idea. But may I suggest yet another good idea? What if the leaders of the already established factions got a huge lump of money, as if they were in charge of a large government's or orgranization's treasury. Then, they could distribute this out to their faction's members as they saw fit. To me, this would be a good rp way of distributing wealth in an efficient and somewhat realistic mechanism. It would only be fair I suppose to temporarily increase the starting money, but if the leaders of the already established factions were given a large treasury (as would make sense for them, since they are governmental bodies or large organizations), we would probably all be back to normal in less than a week. Independent players would suffer, but thats part of the price one pays for being independent, right? They dont work for a government or criminal body, thus dont have access to their funds and recovery efforts. Just a thought.

EDIT: That means Igiss only adds to 7 or 8 (or however many established factions there are as of this posting) characters' accounts. Much less work, ultimately much the same results.

New systems + Player wipe - Korrd - 11-02-2005

We have 2 problems with your plan:

1st: A player cant have more than 2500mill. Only the worth + money of my chars is arround 800 Mill... Imagine all the players of a faction.... we can surpass 2500mill by far...

2nd: What about independent players? The plan MUST benefit EVERYONE. Not only faction players... Many traders are independent because an independent player is not subject of the clan rules...
Those chars have worked hard to achieve what they have now... Loosing everything and starting from scratch is not acceptable.... As An example, my trader took arround a month to reach the status it has now. I passed from straflier to defender, to humpback to armored transport, to transport, to train, to large train... I have no time to start all my 5 chars from scratch again (remember that some of us have jobs and/or school, and cannot put all of our time to "freelancing"). Im sure many players will agree this...

I proposed that the sum of worth + money of all the chars of a player should be transferred to ONE char of the player after the wipe. Not all 3, 4 or 5 (or more) of them. That way Igiss only have to give the money to a few of the total chars (that is arround 20-30 people instead 250 or more)...

Hmm, in light of Korrd's relevant critiques, I guess the best way would be for everyone to start from scratch. I think its just too much trouble to enter in all those accounts' funds. It would take an unGodly amount of time.

Igiss already said this would be discussed more in-depth later, sometime near January. So, just let it drop for now. If this keeps near the top much longer... Igiss might just lock the thread. (hint hint)

If you want to start from scratch, go ahead... but i think that most of us dont want to see all of our effort gone...

Lets leave this topic until the wipe time comes... discusing this right now is nonsense... We still have 2 months to decide....
Until then...

I think we should up the starting money to 500,000 for 3 days then back to the riginal amount. We all have too much tuff so we need to start over so we all have something to do, as some of us get bored of being so rich.
