Zoner whales. - schlurbi - 10-05-2009 Selling Stuff. But I'd like to see the RP Reason behind this. Also like to have some Routes to Toledo then. Zoner whales. - Ark - 10-05-2009 Yawn. Maybe now the anti-zoner agenda will ebb. My route is untouched anyway. Zoner whales. - pipboy - 10-05-2009 ' Wrote:Yawn. Maybe now the anti-zoner agenda will ebb.It should I think. Most of that was thanks to the mindless power trading Zoner zombie horde. Zoner whales. - Enko - 10-05-2009 RP reason behind not reengaging? Same thing, balance reasons. Zoner whales. - cmfalconer - 10-05-2009 oh oh, can I get on the bashing bandwagon too? I personally like seeing the 3-4 Zoner Whale with Guard ID sales going on because people aren't giving their rep a chance. They've lost 30% of their powertr...i mean profits...and all of a sudden they're throwing in the towel? Please. Yes, NOT ALL Zoners in their whales were evil cohorts of satan, but you know what they say about a few bad apples... Doesn't all this b*tch happen on new mod version releases? Are we going to have to endure it every time an update happens? It's one thing to quietly point out a glaring error (Geb flies at 400 on impulse now?), but come one people. If you don't like it, go somewhere else, there's still plenty of players willing to keep Disco going without you. They shouldn't be Freelancers and they shouldn't be Zoners (which are effectively the same thing). Zoners doing this robbed lots of pirate factions, such as LWB and the Gaians of their primary corporate targets such as Synth Foods and Planetform. Mind explaining me how Zoners now have massive capital ships and an entire Planet? Maybe we should get rid of all that too. I say why not. If you're going to "correct" a faction to the vanilla way, I say do it all the way. How do Zoners maintain a planet full of hundreds of millions of people if they never trade with House corporations, Junkers, etc on anything bigger than a freighter? Quote:The Omegas and Omicrons were never meant to be as busy as New York. They're meant to be wild, with small stations, the ass end of nowhere, and hella dangerous, not full of trains. So was the Wild West. It's called expansion. Zoner RP has been evolving for years. Same goes for the RP in the Omegas. They gave Zoners a planet and a strong economic infestructure. People build their entire RP around this only to have the developers change their mind about the core elements of the game. Zoner whales. - Irra - 10-05-2009 I have one route that isn't affected by any changes i think, it maybe even buffed i don't know, can't remember. Anyway i need to pass House system but i dock only Zoner bases and some unlawful bases. But i will defiantly create one miner char because i will get bored doing one same route without changing like i could do before with 20 of routes. Now i have 2 routes, Organs and Deut got nerfed so it can provide some change but not enough. If you're going to "correct" a faction to the vanilla way, I say do it all the way. Because someone made a huge mistake before, and now less mistakes are being made. I think the dev team could only put up with so much crying from Zoner players at once. Zoner whales. - Sprolf - 10-05-2009 ' Wrote:It's called roleplay. For once I have to agree with Adrian. Zoners are people who hate the houses. They leave them and live on the edge. They don't go back to house space. Or at least shouldn't. If they do, they get into trouble with governments because of their "neutrality." Like has been going on. Zoner neutrality is really "not giving a damn." Not any other way, really. Zoner whales. - Dab - 10-05-2009 ' Wrote:So what good routes can i do now with this 'Stupid' restrictions **Which i do hope will change**Maybe you could try real Zoner routes. You know, going from one Zoner station to another.. ' Wrote:Mind explaining me how Zoners now have massive capital ships and an entire Planet? Maybe we should get rid of all that too. I say why not. If you're going to "correct" a faction to the vanilla way, I say do it all the way. They have massive capital ships, but very few of them. Juggernauts are supposed to be very very rare. Now, yes, the playerbase of Juggy pilots isn't representative of this, but that is the lore of it. Also, the Planet doesn't have hundreds of millions, but it does have a fair amount.. But compare its population to that of the houses, and you'll see it really isn't that big. Also, the supplies for Gran Canaria are either built on the planet's surface (fully capable of sustaining itself, plenty of room for food and industry) or brought in from other border world stations, like Freeport 5 and Freeport 9. Corsairs also sell a large portion of goods they pirate to Freeports, the same is true of Gran Canaria. Now, for everyone that's acting as if this big huge change to the Zoners is out-of-the-blue, shocking, completely unexpected, etc.. This was debated on these forums months back, and reached a majority vote to adopt these changes. At the end of it, there was an announcement made that those changes WOULD be taken to the dev team for final decisions and possible implementation. If you go look in the ship sales section, you'll see a lot of people selling their Zoner Whales lately. That's because they knew that soon this would be happening and people would need to change their ships if they wanted to continue doing their trade runs. Now, before you claim that the dev team is out to gimp all Zoners and powertraders.. Know that this entire ID change was my idea. Now, I am a Zoner myself. I've had a Zoner character for nearly four years now. More than just about all of you have even been here.. If anyone should not want to have their Zoner ID restricted, it's me. But unfortunately it had to happen. Why? Because the players using that ID have shown that they can not act responsibly and not abuse the freedom this ID gives them. How do you think the real Zoner players feel when their reputation is completely destroyed because half the server's transports are flying around in a plethora of 5k transports with Zoner tags and Guard IDs? We're blamed for the actions of people who aren't even Zoners, just using the ID so they can trade anywhere, with anyone, and do whatever they please. That is why this had to end. Do any of you really believe it was in-roleplay to fly your Zoner Whales filled with 5,000 units of Cardamine up to Manhatten, insta-docking on the mooring fixture, then grabbing slaves and taking them back to Malta? Is that Zoner behavior? No. Was it done? Yes. Were there Zoners grabbing Gold from Graves Station in Bretonia and selling it on Planet Honshu in Kusari? Yes. Since the freedom the ID gave wasn't responsibly used, it was taken away. Now people must make do with corporate faction IDs, and must abide by the roleplay of those factions. The dev team is as sick as everyone else in seeing OORP traders flying around doing routes that aren't meant for their faction, and not having the courtesy to even respond with a single line when hailed by a pirate, lawful, etc, let alone actually roleplay anything. Now people always use the argument; "But trading is boring! We just want to make as much as possible as fast as possible so we can do the fun stuff!" Or the omnipresent, "I'm trading for a battleship!" Well, you'll find trading considerably less boring when you're flying for a faction, seeing other people from other factions, and have a real story behind your transport, rather than 'just another Zoner.' You might realize that trading in a convoy with several other players of the same NPC faction takes a considerable edge off the boredom of trading, not to mention extra defense against pirates.. In the end, if you want something, show you can use it responsibly, or it'll just get taken away. This is a lesson a fairly large percentage of this community still needs to learn, and this is one step towards that. Oh, and towards the end of all the silent smuggling Zoner Whales yelling 'I no spek englis.' |
