The global server workaround - probably to remove the need for them to continually add a new server when someone makes one. Those include any changes on ships except turning. So bombers need to spend more time pointing on the target and are more open to shots from it. Anyway with same damage per second, same energy per second one step refire change it surely is a huge difference. As Mjolnir said, this update was not intended to have major changes in it, it was mainly to get the server list working and fix the cruise drain issue. On the Corsair Colada changes; The damage -and- energy use were both lowered. This came about from a discussion, starting on the DGC forums and being moved to the Dev forums, that the Coladas were too energy-consuming for fighters. Coladas were originally made as shieldbusters for the Corsair bomber. With the introduction of the Bomber weapons, Coladas became nothing but a fighter shieldbuster that used too much energy to be of use in anything outside of a 1v1 duel. To fix that problem, we lowered the energy consumption so that it wouldn't drain Titans dry so quickly. As a necessary addition, we had to lower the overall damage to keep the balance of the gun. This wasn't a nerf or a buff, both the positive and negative aspects of the gun were lowered. Now the Colada functions as a secondary shieldbuster for the Corsairs. It has more energy consumption and higher damage than the Tizona, making it more useful for Corsairs with better aim, while the Tizona is used for people less confident about their aim. The Colada also works best with Salamanca loadouts, while the Tizona is best for 2 Tizzy + 4 Codename loadouts that are widespread among the Corsair players (due to the weapon speeds all being 600ms). On the bomber turning decreases; The Roc's turning was decreased because 1.) It's a small bomber, especially from the front, back, and sides. This makes it hard to hit. Even more so when it's a very fast bomber. 2.) It was too fast for a bomber. The other bombers with speed near the Roc were much larger than the Roc, or had some other disadvantage (Like the FA Bomber which only has 2 forward-facing guns). The Roc didn't have these disadvantages. The turning decrease still leaves it as a very good bomber, with a powercore equal to many other bombers of similar size and speed. It's on equal footing now, not worse. The Preatorian had its turning decreased for many of the same reasons. It's shape made it very very hard to hit, especially with its shield down. Coupled with the wing-mounted torpedoes, it was a very effective anti-fighter bomber, even with the new changes to weapons. It was also very hard to hit for capital ships, much harder than most of the other bombers. |
