O.O - Eppy - 06-28-2007 But not if it is specifically stated that these are for the extremely devoted, those who actually can spend a week in their basements with a kg of Mountain Devv, peeing into a bedpan, doing nothing but Omega-49. O.O - TankTarget - 06-29-2007 Me I'm smart, taking advantage of this armor when I got my char refund....but it took most of the money I got back. However what is a flagship without the best armor and weapons on the market? Now, I can guarantee to you all that this armor is fair. It almost doesn't cost enough. O.O - BestFlyerHere - 06-29-2007 Quote:u dont really need it. once i had a test thing on my own server with supernova. (back in 4.82) we had equal ships (nomad battleship) except he had armor upgrade MK8 and i had none. I beat him twice in a row without dying, getting repaired, or b/b. they give you an edge but in the case of that armor upgrade. just get the regular one. First of all, that's supernova. Anyone can beat him... Mk. 8 normal armor only times the armor by 2.5 Try 4.0 FTW!!! O.O - Lt.Cmdr.Olsav - 06-29-2007 dont be mean to super, he had his faults nad he screwed up royally but he wasnt that bad O.O - TankTarget - 06-29-2007 Yeah he was...in caps at any rate. He did well in a fighter....but I learned... NO FLAMING. Now back on to gloating about my armor...MUAAHAHAHAHA Okay this armor is perfectly fair nothing unbalanced about the thing at all. Just expensive and having that little edge in a combat situation it is worth the extra penny O.O - Eppy - 06-29-2007 I don't own a faction yet, so I can't do the uber-convoy thing yet. Oh well. O.O - fwolf - 06-29-2007 Olsav, the spirit of Freelancer is already dead when you see a very expensive equipment like that in a mod. All those traders in large trains going in and out of any milk route and with a battleship near to protect them against the pirates are there for one purpose: get the maximum of the maximum. Its a arms race, a cold war. No shoot is made, they keep trading until they get the maximum power. And when they get the armor for their battleships, they pose for some screenshots with their buddies, and theres no enemy to fight, because the pirates in gunboats will not risk a fight with two or more battleships with maximum armor. Then these players go to Connectitut, and when you connect and look to the chat screen you see near half of the players in that system, because is all thats left for them, train with their buddies and discuss loadouts. O.O - Panzer - 06-29-2007 A bit sad, isn't it? And so we get back to the Battleship abundance issue. Maybe their availibility could get limited by the introduction of a special ID? Admin-issued of course... O.O - Eppy - 06-29-2007 Nah, we can't just limit battleship availability. Suppressing free will and such. Besides, anybody can get a few guys together in fighters and beat the living crap out of a battleship if they really want to. If not-WE HAVE OTHER BATTLESHIPS. And a good thing, too. O.O - Lt.Cmdr.Olsav - 06-29-2007 No, make anything over gunboat require a faction and admin approval. |
