Perhaps I didnt clarify.
When I say Gas Miner - I mean the undockable Gas Miners floating about.
Not Gas Miner Ogashawa or Gas Miner Naha.
I mean the other small ones you see floating about the system.
As to your other comments Mr Dusty - hydrogen mining? I dont quite follow you sir? I havent mentioned hydrogen mining in my proposal to be sure.
Are you saying that 'other' gases to be mined in the Sigmas should have nothing to do with H-Fuel operations?
Look at the number of Gas Miners across the Sigmas and Okinawa - there are plenty to go around. Lets have a think about it rather than shutting the thread down eh?

Logically- the GMG sells H-fuel . H- Fuel is what powers sirus . What makes H-fuel ? Hydrocarbons or Hydrogen surley? From a shooting rocks perspective , Id say that Hydrocarbons are the most logical .
If it was an Ice Cloud sytle field ( in terms of looks), I think that shooting rocks and getting hydrocarbons would be sensible and enjoyable.
Possible implementation ?
Well Sigma 13 is running out of resources ( Im sure thats on the iunfocards somewhere) , and there is nowhere to stick it in there.
So
maybe some remote ish part of sigma 19/17 ( so that its not just suddenly appearing in familiar space) or maybe change that large purple cloud around the gas miner in Okinawa to a minable hydrocarbon cloud?
Just some ideas.
I also like Fridays Gas Miner idea alot.

I would say Xenon. The stationary gas miners are the ones that are mining the Helium-3, Hydrogen and other elements needed to make H-Fuel. The alien org fields of Sigma-19 and Beta could be turned into Xenon, and give the GMG and Outcasts something new to fight over.
As to applications of Xenon: very important in science itself. As well as the obvious gas lamps, Xenon can also be used to make gas lasers and make medical imaging possible. Most importantly however, it is a very good fuel for ion engines, and as a result it is probably crucial to both the arms industry (all sorts of particle guns) and next generation propulsion.
I vote Xenon.

what's the problem with "unprocessed H-fuel"?
The small "gas miners" should be made to drop x units of it every x minutes as long as there's a ship with the right ID around.

The gas doesn't have to be in rock or ice form to be mined. It's not that hard to create a model with a semi transparent gaseous texture on it, though I think a custom GMG designed gun or vacuum thing to mine it would have to go along with it.

Mjolnir i dont think afk mining is the key here, although... perhaps shooting at the non dockable gas miners with special guns make random chance of dropping an item for appropriate id and aff and ship and gun..
