RP Cargo - Caelum - 12-30-2009 Yup, using it for every char. Shade usually has... 1x Black market ammunition 1x Side arm (Or whatever it was called again) 1x Spaceship crew (Shade himself) 1x oxgen 1x water 1x food rations 1x robotic components (Shade himself; cybernetic and all that) 1x consumer goods (various purposes) Dreamcatcher usually has: 1x gunboat captain (when possible, I don't go out of my way to farm gunboat captains) 120/119x spaceship crew (That is, once Gallia starts containing spaceship crew) 40x water 40x oxgen 40x food rations And Rokh usually has: 1x side arm 1x black market ammunition 1x Cardi 1x spaceship crew (Rokh himself) 1x food rations 1x water 1x oxygen 3x consumer goods (respectively, a deck of playing cards, a coin and a dice) Items are an awesome opportunity for RP. Especially boarding-another-ship type of RP (though completely optional of course):) RP Cargo - SamuWarcraft - 12-30-2009 I always carry cardi in my Outcast chars. I guess that without it my pliot could die in space.:yahoo: RP Cargo - Sprolf - 12-30-2009 Humorous story about RP cargo: I was just roleplaying around Pennsylvania today in the DSE barge... evidently Eyvind had seen fit to put just one unit of Synthetic Marijuana in the barge for some reason. A naval player detected it, and he wanted it. I had no idea why it was there, so I passed it off successfully as a potted plant in the President's office. That turned into a massive bit of roleplay with the excellent Jason.Breen... Seriously, Marijuana makes a great looking potted plant. RP Cargo - Durandal - 12-30-2009 Situational. Usually I fill up on the stuff, but in some cases (namely gunboats) there isn't much room left over with a CAU VIII installed, and in that case I don't bother. RP Cargo - Prysin - 12-30-2009 sometimes i fill my ship with mox to act as my fuel tank..... meaning... either i get more mox, or i cant use the cruise engines anymore:P On my bs i always carry crew food rations water oxygen cardamine h-fuel and on long journies; Engine components, ship hull panels and robotic components RP Cargo - Patrician - 12-30-2009 On my Outcast characters I always have a unit of Cardimine on board in case I have to travel a long distance (fighter/bomber). Occasionally I will pick up a few units of cargo to RP with. Wine for celebrations, Tobacco for cigarettes. Once I RP'ed an upset stomach from a hangover (*Shakes fist* Damn you Finnegan!) and carried one unit of toxic waste. Then I had someone procure me a unit of Pharm's to help me get over it. Next I plan on getting a human organ for a liver transplant and RP'ing a search for a doctor to operate on me. On my Mandalorian, I occasionally carry a unit of Consumer Goods, so that anyone who shoots me down gets a free "I survived the Mandalorian Mercs" T-Shirt. RP Cargo - Thexare - 12-30-2009 The only time you'll find crew in my ships is when I'm actually trading them for a profit. They make decent filler runs sometimes, believe it or not. I don't carry any RP cargo for my own "use" anymore, although my Junker does sometimes bring water, oxygen, and food rations to other Junker bases. It's not necessary to RP, it provides me with an easy way to detect and avoid elitist pricks, and it avoids the issues like the one Bazza outlined. Also I'm lazy. I haven't always been against it though. My old trader, ALS)Cerulean, had 5 crew, 6 Light Arms (the current captain wasn't counted with the crew, not sure why I stuck with that so stubbornly), and enough food, water, and fuel to bring me up to a multiple of 5 or 10. I forget exactly how much, it's been a while. Fact is, none of that ever became necessary or useful in RP. With or without those Crew commodities, I was able to RP the other members of the crew, and no one ever commented on the food, water, fuel, or guns. So why bother? RP Cargo - Tenacity - 12-30-2009 On my capships and fighters, I'll often carry RP cargo. My nomad almost always carries a few units of liquid cardamine or standard cardamine, my council fighter carries food rations, water, oxygen, and oil, and my carrier usually carries food, water, oxygen, fuel, etc. However, my trade ships are for making money, and having worthless cargo take up cargo space that could be turning a profit is unacceptable. If my crew wants to eat, they'd better pack candybars and smuggle aboard their own water. Anyone found storing their personal essentials in my cargo bay gets booted out the airlock. RP Cargo - Tales23 - 12-30-2009 I've always outfitted my ships with cargo for example: The.Izanami: 1 x VIP (Mr. Aldric Eden) 5 x Crew (Various Crew) 2-5 x Slaves (Servants)* 10 x Cardamine (For diplomatic talks)* ---------------------------------------------- The rest is just random stuff. (500 x Fuel, Luxury Food, Wine, Tobacco, ect...) I'm starting to think about not doing this anymore though... I've been harassed by players a lot just scanning me and demanding the cargo without even RPing anything. I mean I could understand the initial RP scanning a ship and demanding but if someone tries to RP it being hidden by saying there is a error with your scanners than why not indulge them... Especially when it's someone who's not Power Trading and just has it for RP PURPOSES. Today even though I had a Military ship search my vessel with his crew and told him he "could" find it but decided not to another officer was like "I CAN SEE THE 10 CARDAMINE" now my question is, is that Power gaming since he is conflicting with the RP by ignoring it. He continued even after the Navy ship that inspected me through RP told him he didn't find anything physically on my ship. I was planning on getting some slaves for servants and stuff but I wouldn't want to be stopped by everyone including Mercs who seem to want to shoot at you and demand stuff like there the police. I don't blame people for demanding cargo but at least if someone is trying to roleplay, roleplay back... In the end I'm considering not buying cargo anymore. RP Cargo - Dark_Predator - 12-30-2009 ' Wrote:I try to have pilots in my hold representing the current crew. So for now that means me, three adults and one child. Damn no RP guy:nono: , but you have made correctly I think. |
