How should Zoners "behave"? - Fellow Hoodlum - 09-12-2007 If I see this thread kicking off towards flaming Dab, it is my bounds mate ... And you will be of a mind to remember that. There was nothing bordering on in till Tank came in and told every one to shut up. Its a public forum, and everyone here was expressing an opinion, as is their right here. How you choose to deal with it is also yours. You and Tank may have your mutual appreciation society currently, but the AW high command, as you put it are the ones to answer I believe, not the rank and file shouting everyone down. Now step off the high horse, it doesn't fit you. Hoodlum How should Zoners "behave"? - Smiley_ - 09-12-2007 That being said, I would like to add something. The Zoners are famous for their neutrality, however, if you look on the AW faction page, they describe themselves as "Militaristic Mercenaries." True, they have their own ID, but they buzz around the Zoner guard system and claim to be zoner guards. If they are in fact zoners, their actions should reflect that. If they aren't, they should not be in controll of omicron 74. As for the neutrality aspect, they are allied or friendly with every outcast-based faction there is. Rouges, GC, and blood dragons included. They call themselves peace keepers, yet they say that they are mostly unlawful and such. If their intentions are noble, and they do infact keep the so-called peace in omicron theta, why are all the house factions listed as unfriendly? If they are unlawful, that would suggest that they bully traders. If they do not do these things, why are they unlawful? Oh, and they are friendly with the order who are friendly with the corsairs, to which the AW are hostile to! Gah, too many inconsistencisies! My head hurts!:( How should Zoners "behave"? - bluntpencil2001 - 09-12-2007 I will attempt to counter Dab's response, without any added flames. Firstly, he claims that this is a public bashing. This isn't fair, the others, save TT, have tried to be civil and merely wish an explanation to which they are entitled. Right, Dab claims not to have initiated any hostilities in Zoner space. This is not true. The AW declared war on the SCRA for attacking the HF in Zoner space. Now, this is something the Zoners don't care about, as Zoners. They happily let folk like Bounty Hunters, Corsairs and Outcasts fight in Theta. Why would they care about the HF/SCRA? The Zoners, whom the AW claim to protect, don't care. They aren't the ones getting shot. However, the AW declared war to protect their allies. Who are NOT Zoners and who WEREN'T paying them as mercenaries. If you want a faction to be a bunch of warmongers, admit it, noone will hold it against you. Hell, quite a few current factions are warmonger scum, but at least they attempt to make it obvious. See: SCRA, NovaPG. Now, if you could either A) Act like Zoners or B) Stop claiming to be Zoners when it suits you, people would complain a lot less. You cruised away, meaning your out the battle, you said it your self "im out guys don't shoot", once you have hit cruise you have left the battle and are essentially dead. Now i have quite a few screen shots of all the out of char chat you did for the whole 40 minute "RP" battle we where engaged in, you ruined that fight, with all your OOC chatter, how are people supposed to fight when your filling the screen with compleate blabble, which is i might add is against SERVER RULES. How should Zoners "behave"? - Korrd - 09-12-2007 Sigh.. Not again.. I only see one solution to this. And that is to complete the AW migration from Zoners to AW. The only thing needed is to add an AW NPC group like we did with the phantoms. That way, AW would no longer be aligned with the Zoners. I think that AW and Phantoms are the only factions that does not fit with any NPC due to their odd diplomacy and goals. How should Zoners "behave"? - bluntpencil2001 - 09-12-2007 There's the SCRA too, Korrd. You know this. This train of thought won't go anywhere. How should Zoners "behave"? - DarkOddity - 09-12-2007 I'm sorry to say, but I don't think NPC factions should start getting handed out because they cannot RP with the intended mechanics and atmosphere of the Discovery Universe. I guarantee all such a course of action will do is promote this kind of behavior: "You don't like my factions RP? Then make the admins create one for me!" Not to mention, it looks like an abuse of power. They already have their ID, just remove/change any information that links them to the Zoners and move them somewhere else. Perhaps you will also admit that after I explained my situation of Z key not working you said NO, you are out. I obliged and sat next to the other dead fighter for the rest of the battle. Perhaps you also have the screenie of an AW yelling to Smiley that You cant attack us We are Zoners. If not let me know. I can help you with that. My problem is that I am not sure if I attacked a brother faction. The battle is done and over with. I just need to know, as a Zoner merc, what should be JG's Stance towards AW on this matter. If you are Zoners we are allies. If you are attacking players in other systems without provocations then you are not zoners, the best we are is neutral. I seriously thought you guys were BH. Seeing an AW yell on the system: Don't shoot I am a Zoner concerns me as we consider ourselves Zoner too. Hope this explains a little ..Koord, please help me out with this one. I am not trying to flame any one...please... My thoughts exactly. I understand that it is hard for the AW to RP a faction that doesn't have their own tag, but the problem lies in their linking themselves to the Zoners so tightly. They don't act like Zoners, which is fair enough, but they act like the Zoners' own House Police... which isn't. If they claim to be mercenaries, a Zoner tag can still work, but they should keep their warfare a strictly commercial business, or use it to defend their own pilots, the Order or the GMG, within reason. EDIT: Actually, Pipsqueak makes a good point. Maybe Bounty Hunter tags would work for such a mercenary faction? How should Zoners "behave"? - Korrd - 09-12-2007 Thats why I think that a system with AW NPC should do, as we did with the phantoms. That way the AW would end up completely disconnected from Zoners, and would be able to do his trick without having to Violate faction specific RP rules. I don't see any other NPC faction that could serve the purpose. Remember that AW was created long ago, during the early RP eras. Zoner rep was chosen because it would fit it the best, to a degree. Before that, AW was not aligned to any NPC, and AW space spawned over almost all of the Omicrons, Taus, Omegas and Sigma systems. We limited their space to Theta, and give it Zoner rep mostly to limit it and avoid it from taking over the whole sirius sector. |
