Any Molly out there wants a Bomber? Maybe this one. - Qunitinius~Verginix - 09-18-2007

' Wrote:What about just Hyena? Huge, very tough - yet not very fast - dog type animal. Very fitting for a bomber. I mean jeez, they fight lions.

I know they are not technically even related to dogs, but I think they are close enough - at least in looks - for the same theme.

Hyena is the name of the Rogue/Molly Light FIghter Mk II

I vote Fenrir, It sounds cool.

Named it Fenrir already, but don't worry Tank, i have a second name in mind "Barghest". It is a creature from english folklore and depends to the notorious Black Dogs.
I have seen it in the mod already, ah sorry, i have played it in the mod, cause this is my way of testing, how to edit the Hardpoints. Looks better than MS screenshots.

The final decision for the name has Igiss, if he wants to implement it.

I think Fenrir and similar names from Norse mythology are too Rheinlandish, actually...

Well, for more of a British Isles name, there's the Barghest.

Or the Cusith (pronounced 'coo shee'), which is Scottish.

Can't really think of anything specifically Irish...

Yeah, I know too much about this stuff.

Perhaps Cuchulainn?

He was not exactly a dog, but supposedly he could transform into a raging beast. It's the only Irish folklore I'm at all familiar with.

Now you've got me thinking of Thin Lizzy...

Pray tell me the story of young Cuchulainn
How his eyes were dark his expression sullen
And how he'd fight and always won
And how they cried when he was fallen!

Great song... Maybe name the ship Roisin Dubh?

lol Chupacabra.....good name for a ship that stir fear in people.

Any how love the design. Couple of things that may improve it in my eyes.

1. Cockpit is too big for a rogue ship design. May be nerf the Nose a little bit. Make it a single fighter cockpit. Doesnt make sense why suddenlt Rogues would need massive panoramic windows. (look at Wolf HOuund, Mule and Blood Hound).

2. Slightly increase the Tapered wings (Like the Mule)

One a serious Note. How about "Shadow Hound"

It has a nice ring to it.

Seconded chupacabra.
I shall drink ALL your scottish sheeps' blood! Yarr!

I think this is probably the most fitting-in design i've seen. Looks like a fresh vanilla molly bomber. Get it through to the new disco release! >:D

I know you said that you already picked the name, but I did a bit more research and found this...

Dobhar-chu

On a side note, considering the size of this ship I would think it would be classified under SHF (Super Heavy Fighter).
It really looks more like a small Gunboat though. Perhaps classifying it as a small freighter would be more realistic?
I'm not familiar with the Molly ID. Are they allowed freighters?
