Portal 2 - Friday - 04-20-2011

Gawd - Steam downloads so effing slow!

"Are - you - still - there?"

Portal 2 - Zukeenee - 04-20-2011

Found a computer that I can kind-of sort-of get access to that'll run the game. Installed Steam on it, installed Portal 2, got to the start-up screen, clicked on the New Game button, loading screen loaded... crash to desktop, no error messages, nothing.

Tried it several times over again, same result. Apparently I'm not the only one having this problem. Tried messing with my antivirus-thingy, tried reinstalling, rebooting... no luck.

Maybe I'll just go out tomorrow and spend another <strike>fifty</strike> sixty bucks on the Xbox 360 version instead.

On that note, anyone want a copy of Portal 2 for their PC? Give me some money, and I'll gift it to you or something. You can do that with Steam games, right?

No you can't
Only can gift games you have multiples of or directly from store. Not from library.

Steam does do refunds but very rarley. Only on pre-orders and special cases after.

There should be a fix.

You should really get a new computer for one simple reason. It is without a doubt the single greatest game I have ever played, I laughed the whole way through and finished the game with a big grin on my face. Stephen Merchant did a fantastic job voicing Wheatly, they couldn't have picked a better man for that character (They even took some memorable lines from the Barclay's advertisements he narrated in the UK).

I need someone to play the co-op with now, any takers?

Once, I get the game, install the game, play the game, finish the game, then, yes.

I did, I have do say the beam I shot myself with was not that friendly.

Also, continuous loop for the win!

That wouldn't work that way, given that P-Body's portals are orange/red and Atlas's are blue/purple--that image has someone going in the blue portal and coming out the orange one. Doesn't work that way in co-op

That image is from the teaser trailer. It would appear that Valve's orginal concept was that each player would be able to shoot one Portal.

Ah, I'm glad they ended up going with the two-per-player thing, then, since it requires you to solve problems that you wouldn't be able to solve alone.
