I'm still waiting for The Elder Scrolls V, and for the new CS. And yes, I'm a TES junkie, and I say it proudly.

Oh, this ain't flood? Even so, screw Fallout, never loved the series.
TES died honorably with Morrowind. Oblivion was like trying to keep a 20 year old cat alive. It's fun and cute ; but lacking it's soul. Or some other deep stuff. V's supposed to be in Skyrim, but this was said 2+ years ago.

I'm doing that one right now. But how the hell do I get Cass (or whatever her name is) to come with me to Freeside? She just doesn't want to move until she gets a caravan licence.

P.S. I'm doing the mission she gave me (working for Crimson Caravan) in the hope that that'll get her to come with me, but I'm not sure if it'll work.

If you work for Crimson Caravan, you'll get a mission to buy the caravan she lost and after doing so you can ask her to be your companion.

Also, to anyone worried about the ability to be 'bad', from what I've seen there's not even a good side in the game, just one pretending to be good while conducting slavery and crucifying people, another pretending to be good while being a bunch of corrupted drunkards and gamblers and a last one not even hiding his will to dominate the entire wasteland, killing anyone who's not willing to aid him. They're all like a bunch of Hessians, pretending to be the good boys while plundering and killing all the way. ^__^

Anyway,

LONG LIVE THE NEW CALIFORNIA REPUBLIC!

NEW VEGAS! - Corsair - 10-25-2010

Just beat the game as an Independent Vegas after slaughtering the NCR and Legion. Got my army of Mk. II Securitrons under Yes Man, and now I'm playing again, this time a different combat style, going to bring Vegas under NCR control.

Now, Hardcore mode. DON'T. FRIGGING. BOTHER. If it's on, turn it off. The "Special Reward"? An achievement. Yep. I had thought it would be something cool, like a New Game Plus sort of thing. But nope.

Also, Karma = Damn useless in this game. I finished as a Very Good last time, and I had not once seen a Karma-related conversation option or perk. I downloaded a mod to get perks every level, because every other level is just frustrating.

The music. They used Fallout 2 music. Yeah, from about 20 years ago. How's that for laziness? I didn't get into gambling, and the textures are as boorish as ever. Aesthetically, it's alright, since there's so much there, but it's missing on the little details. Audibly, I had to turn it off and use the in-Steam browser to listen to my Pandora account. Radio is absolutely TERRIBLE. There's about 4 songs total that play on the radio. On all four radio stations. The same four songs for the four different radio stations in the game. WUT.

So if you can deal with irritating textures, a slightly confusing story, and horribad music, New Vegas is a lot of fun.

NEW VEGAS! - Sturmwind - 10-25-2010

Eh, also. It's full of bugs to a degree that it's annoying.

NEW VEGAS! - frozen - 10-25-2010

the only things that kind of frustrate me about NV is the lack of a decent selection of tracks for the radio- any radio, and the fact that there are a couple bugs that kind of never let you "win" at the quest. for example, the monorail bug (wont go into details to ruin it for people, duno how many people have done it). that bug needs to be fixed, unless bethesda/obsidian wanted to troll us by making it so **** goes downhill ANYWAY.

never was bothered with the textures too much, its too epic a game to bitch about somthing like that imo.

overall, its MUCH more immersing that f3, its much bigger than f3 as well, loads of side quests, and there aint no feeling of time revolves around you anymore. **** will happen whether you involve yourself into it or not. the fact that i can customize my weapons is awesome, though personally there needs to be much much much more modifications to be put in. there just aint enough mods for weapons. and there aint enough custom weapons either. though, tbh, im happy with my stealth armour and unique gauss rifle + 80 sneak + boone. **** dies. fast.

NEW VEGAS! - ophidian - 10-25-2010

Forum ate my post last night I guess.

Anyway;

It is better because finally someone decided to add the actual Fallout creators to take part in it. You know, most of them are at Obsidian after Black Isle was closed. Only Boyarsky kinda names are missing (he is with Blizzard I guess) but still, that is an impact.

About the bugs and stuff, they have released two patches so far. It will be better.

Most of the time, people think that bugs are developers fault. In reality, having bugs in a game means that devs didn't have time to fix that because of tight scheduling (MOST of the times, in case of Obsidian, this is true, same happened with Kotor II. At first, people bashed Obsidian and then it turned out to be Lucas trying to release the game 6 months PRIOR to its initial plan).

I won't lie, I am an Obisidan fan boy. I bought all their releases solely for supporting them as I was a Black Isle fanboy. I like all their releases for sure but still, my initial intentions were to support them.

Same, I will to with Witcher's dev studio. I have 3 copies of Witcher, 2 normal and 1 limited edition. And I don't buy anything EA except (SADLY) for Bioware releases.

Anyway, I am yet to buy this game, I will buy it next month probably, I already bought a lot of stuff last week. I guess I will go with my November shopping for NV, near to new Assassin's Creed.

As Dusty mentioned in his review post, many people were disappointed with FO3 because it didn't "feel like the classic fallout games" well, I'm one of those people, and New Vegas looks like a step back on the right path!

AND BECAUSE OF YOU GUYS IT SOUNDS LIKE IT TOO.

But I won't even come anywhere near that game until like next summer or something!

gwagaghaaaaaghhhh!

Q_Q

So if I understood correctly too, can you actually be evil in New Vegas?

And I mean evil, not good guy dressed up like evil guy...

It's okay Sarah, I can't play it either Q_Q

NEW VEGAS! - BaconSoda - 10-26-2010

Well, I just bought the game. Gonna power up Hardcore mode to get the playstyle I always wanted in Fallout 3. You mean I have to actually live to live!? Madness!

*Rubs hands together* Ah, yes.
