How Are Cruiser Solaris Turrets? - Knjaz - 04-06-2011 Well, personally, I find Solarises very effective on the small cruisers, like Thresher or KuDessie (complete imba). So it's kinda same as with battleships. If cruiser is small and agile, Solaris are way to go, since they turn it into super-gunboat. If cruiser is medium-large size, they will be kinda useless. Although, you should remember they're completely useless against anything bigger then a bomber, even against a gunboat, due to their power drain. The rogue dessi does much better with primaries then solaris. It fails to strike craft because of its archs. I have an LABC and an RPC that use solaris VERY well. It is all about putting them on something that can mass fire in quite a few directions, and don't fly in a strait line. Make sure you have something else to fight funboats. Solaris are laughably weak vs them. On my LABC i have to go to mortars and cerbs to fight anything better then a fighter. The RPC is maneuverable enough to beat a funboat just by attrition. I would never load a heavy cruiser with solaris. They don't have the power core to sustain them and not enough maneuverability or smallness to use them effectively. |
