I really don't get you people making a big deal out of it.

The old models compared to the new ones are like chosing between a pick-up and Ferrari...

I'm thinking you are missing the entire point of the thread. It isn't about the models themselves. It is about the fact that someone put pictures of the new ships on the wiki. A new player would see this then go buy it in game and potentially be mad because it isn't the same ship as he saw on the wiki.

It doesn't really bother me, because I know to take anything I see or read on the wiki with a grain of salt, but I guess it could bother a new guy so I agree, set them to what they are in game right now. Update it later, after 4.86.

In the future, I think it will be a good idea to save older models and put them in a media section as well to show the evolution of the ship (at least for custom models, no need to show off import models that have been replaced)
I like this idea very much. It will give the pages a nostalgic and historical aspect.

The only potential danger is ships that may have undergone several design changes over the years could end up with long historical sections and take a lot longer to load. That is if anyone were actually ambitious enough to re-download every version of Disco and take SP SS of every ship for said pages. (I'm hoping not.)
