2.) Voted Others, 'cause I tried all of it except banking so far. Probably made the most money with regular trading/ ore reselling, followed by mission-whoring and mining, don't know in which order.
3.) All kinds of IDs, but only rarely generics.

I say that making money is too easy. One hour of trading with 5k hauler and you almost got enough for new gunboat. Thanks God that mining is nerfed or everyone would fly capital ships with CAU VIII.

In cold hard, I currently hold about $2 billion.

Though this is due to the fact that whenever I accumulate a large amount of cash, I have the strange urge to buy a capital ship or two with it, meaning I never keep large amounts of money for very long. >.>
This also means that I have many billions worth of ships and armour, but no money. Q_Q
Aaaaaaaand I've made large amounts of money (hundreds of millions) from various sources, trading, smuggling, mining, bounty hunting (surprisingly little as BHG| >.>), piracy. Though I've never really tried code dealing, as I'm just not patient enough to amass large stocks of weapons, plus, I'd end up using most of them myself.
And I've done all of those with a mix of faction and indy characters, trading mostly as Bowex) and |IDF, though with a substantial amount as an indy as well, mining partially as BMM|, but mostly indy, smuggling entirely as an indy, bounty hunting mostly as an indy and piracy exclusively as an indy (mostly 'sair indy as well).

I find this to be intriguing. While some say it's difficult to make credits the majority have stated they are well over 500 million.
Which means a wider gap in the market index.
Means business would be good....for someone who can hardly make 100 million and uses that 100million to buy shares in a company or market and 10 reps put in 10 million....
xD Sadly I'm looking at these stats and seeing a lack of need for credits.
Harder to make credits these days? This poll isn't reflecting that.
I wish I could ask more questions about how long it took to acquire that amount.

I daresay, if you read the posts you would see that the people in question made most of their credits during peak credit making times. Harris, Diamonds Niobium, and various mining system cycles.
That, and they have sat upon their credits for a long time. And just added to it. Most of the multi-billionaires are old-school.

Yep, making credits has indeed become harder since .84. Not only are the payments lower, but the pirates have become more greedy as well. No more free passes for 2 hours after paying 2 millions. Instead we have "drop all your cargo" now
