' Wrote:Or we could fix them and include them like Tom's trying now. That's a better idea though. No need to remove something that isn't particular broken. It just needs a little love... Primus Lore Re-write - DarthBindo - 04-29-2011 Considering the location, they would most likely be outliers of either the Corsairs or the original Rheinland exploring party. Primus Lore Re-write - Tomtomrawr - 04-30-2011 ' Wrote:Considering the location, they would most likely be outliers of either the Corsairs or the original Rheinland exploring party. The Primusians broke off from the Hispania upon its arrival in the Sirius Sector. Until this point they haven't had any contact with the human race, or at least that's the role-play. I've been thinking about the player faction itself that would be established upon the new Primus lore. There would be many executive positions to fill and many different sections, such as Freight Division, Security and a Foreign Office charged with making contact with other factions. There would also be Espionage and a section attempting to spread revolution to the rest of Sirius (at the moment I'm thinking the Primusian Communists will initially take up a very Trotskyist belief of trying to spread revolution). Primus Lore Re-write - Ivan - 04-30-2011 ' Wrote:We do :|There's no Corsair goverment in lore. Council of Elders is bunch of the strongest, but they never represented all Corsairs, as far as I know. If there'd be stable goverment and Crete state, probably Corsairs'd not even be outlaws and would have working military (thus, they'd have reason for having caps too). ' Wrote:I missed this edit. Primus is occupied by monkey-like creatures because, even in the current lore, people mutated into those. As far as I know devs don't include player-based goverments. In lore, Corsairs have bunch of the strongest people "leading" them - but it doesn't mean all of Corsairs even obey them. Outcasts have the Council of Dons, which's represents interests of large drug trafficers, mostly. Still it's not goverment. ' Wrote:Or we can just remove Gammu and Primus since they have literally nothing to do with Freelancer lore.Ye. Primus Lore Re-write - Tomtomrawr - 04-30-2011 ' Wrote:*What you said about in-lore governments*There is always the option to make an in-Lore Outcast or Corsair government. I'm trying to make one here for Primus. So there is no question of "if Primus has this, why can't so-and-so" because it could have it. The players and devs involved however don't want one, for whatever reason. Primus Lore Re-write - Shryke - 04-30-2011 ' Wrote:Or we could fix them and include them like Tom's trying now. The problem is you're trying to include something that was added as a joke and had nothing to do with the lore of the original game. Considering Disco attempts to stick true to lore as much as possible, I don't see how you can accomplish this without breaking immersion. Primus Lore Re-write - Friday - 05-01-2011 Disco is quite happy to accept discarded Freelancer storylines as canon (destruction of Sol) - so why not easter eggs? Primus Lore Re-write - Linkus - 05-01-2011 The system is not in line to be removed from the mod in 4.86 Therefore efforts to marginalise it and bring it into Discovery lore makes more sense than just rattling on about deleting it. Before it is asked, it is unlikely to be removed. Or so the last crowd who wondered found out from Igiss. Primus Lore Re-write - Shryke - 05-01-2011 ' Wrote:Disco is quite happy to accept discarded Freelancer storylines as canon (destruction of Sol) - so why not easter eggs? Probably because one was a written Freelancer storyline intended to be included and the other is an easter egg that has nothing do with the game. At all.. But hey, if this is the case, I'm going to start writing up an alien species that inhabit gas planets. The planets are there, so why not? |
