I normally say somthing along the lines of "Well well well, what have we here? Hold it or yer crew is about to take a space walk!" n then. "Your cargo has been deemed a Tax to the Renegades, drop all of your cargo or suffer..."

All you indy pirates. I MEAN ALL! need to learn to RP cause I have yet to find a non faction pirate that RPs.
As an indie pirate, I know how to RP. I RP with every trader that RP's with me. Unfortunately I seem to run into traders that would rather quick dock, run, shoot at me on sight, etc all the while saying nada.
It goes both ways so don't go sayin ALL of us indie pirates are guilty.
As for the "More RP less pew pew!" I second that. And from both sides. All you lawful factions, bounty hunters and such. How bout less auto-guns. Its really quite boring to run into most of you since all we get is "die pirate" and then the pew pew starts.
I've been avoiding the forums pretty much for months now because I absolutely hate the politics and idiocy. I don't care what the "official" factions decide is RP and isn't RP. I RP according to my ID. If I'm a Molly I'm gonna pirate BMM and any other trade ship I see in Bretonia if I see fit. Don't care who the official Molly factions have agreements with cause I'm a vanilla Molly.
Bottom line is I'm here to enjoy the game while I'm online. I don't have the time nor patience to read and understand every single political nuance one "formal group" has with another. That's THEIR role play so leave it at that.
Now can we quit with the pirate bashing and enjoy the game.

There are more nonRPing powertraders than nonRPing pirates.
Thus... Something like this thread has little of strong argument. Pirates are sick of trying to RP and after few minutes get assaulted by lawfuls. Their RP is simply. Get the most credits from the prey. Without risk.

How is that in roleplay?Your trader should be fearing for his life.Not trying to engage in tea chats with a pirate.Pirates are generally impatient and cautious.If you are not gonna pay up.We are gonna take you to your grave.There are authorities,the pirate can fear too.What if,if he decides to engage in fancy chats with you,the cops/navy turns up and opens fire?Like really,What's your problem with we pirates roleplaying like that?Is it wrong?Against the rules?Against pirate roleplay?
If you really are gonna pay us,do it quickly.We need to avoid the Navy and Police.
Also,sounds like you have been through Liberty to find these scenarios.

Pirates normally want to get it over with quick in case of authorities show up. However not all pirates are 'mean' but a lot are, so they will in some way say 2millRdai even though they do it with a very nice /setmsg thingie
But it's all the same, pay or die.
Then again a small percentage of pirates are just here for the valuable money or cash and blowing something up isn't always going to work.

I've tried talking to miners in my pirate freighter. After being repeatedly killed by their silent friends whilst trying to have any sort of conversation with them, my new strategy is to make a demand, drop their shields and kill them if they hesitate to hand over the cash. I've decided that this is pirate RP.
Most of the time I ask for around 100-200k in cash and they still muck around resulting in my death. I've adjusted to this.
