It's too advanced/developed for a first generation ship.

Voted for the old one.

Jinx the new one still looks more like the Waran than the old Taiidan. The horizontal wings on the side of the bulk don't do it at all, the progression is rather bad. Make the wings like they were on the Taiidan, behind the bulk and mounted on the circular engines. 4 wings in an "X" configuration, not 2, and they should be long enough to be noticeable from head on. Also vertically the ship bulk in the mid section should probably become smaller to make it look leaner and not like a huge brick. Remember, this ship *should* be aerodynamic, it is designed for nebula warfare.

If you change the newest one according to this, I think it has potential.

I agree the old version needs a update but I think (of the people that spoke up) we'd much like it to be as similar to the current model as possible. I myself fancy the new model without the fins; but if you made the back look similar to the back of the old model I'd be you'd get more support. People (including me) just love the old model, even with its imperfections.

there is a lot more about the "bulk" than just - mass...

the old taidan bomber - or rather the old gmg bomber was a HW1 model with 4 winglets shaped like an X.

the first kaichou is basicly a streamlined dragon cockpit section with two heavy heatsinks making the "wings" - and one upper and lower frame where the torps are mounted

the rear engine is meant to be similar to the rheinland ships...

the revision however is a long cockpit section that is only attached to the reactor - the two massive heatsinks are not connected to the body at all anymore - but are connected to the axis which holds the stubby wings.

those wings are embedded in the octagon frame - which is connected to the reactor housing.

the entire ship is a lot "lighter" than the old kaichou - cause it is a lot more modular - with more space between the parts.

it is unlikely that i really change that design, cause changing it according to the suggestions takes the individual parts severely out of proportion. even the removal of the decorative wings doesn t really work.

a model can be changed - but not too much, cause the sum of the parts still need to be in harmony.

take that ship as an offer. - and the poll as a neutral way to ask the community. ( the poll and the replies )

either way - the gmg should be quite happy .. cause they gain a freighter that doesn t make you throw up when you use it. ( and to be honest - it appears that more than enough ppl are perfectly happy with the old bombers looks anyway - so it would really feel redundant to replace it ... there is nothing really wrong with the old model in terms of quality )

I don't know Jinx. There's something funky going on there.

Warning, cannot be unseen!

I allways wonders what happens with all the not used or disapproved ships you guys make? They rust on HDD till the ends? Why are they not released in ship packs? Anyway back to topic...

-The new freighter have those textures on the fins...they look cheesy
-The new bomber...well where is the resemblance with the Waran? Ok I think sometimes judging the ships by RP is just weird...that ship is darn good looking...the old one just looks good. Refiting the ships is a natural proces IMO, and if there is an oportunity to have more sophisticated and awesome ships, why not to use it?

That's not exactly a problem. That's just texture not being mirrored.

I haven't read most of the thread, but I think I have an idea why people like the old one.

It's smaller so it is better in pvp )))))))
