Rule 6.7 - tansytansey - 06-28-2011 ' Wrote:The Pirate Transport is universal available AND superior in its class and so giving ALL Pirates huge advantage. Are you seriously comparing the strength difference of a Pirate Transport vs Other Transports with any Cruiser vs Pirate Transport? Rule 6.7 - Ceoran - 06-28-2011 I approve of the general idea, hence voted in favour, but would like to see further work on the actual wording of it before implementation. While I see it perfectly legit for a cap to assist allies/friendlies under fire, I don't think they should be allowed to, for example, demand contraband for balance reasons. To avoid loopholes it would be have to made clear that they may only assist in defense of allied vessels but not engage in pursuit. Noone wants LN Dreads chasing PTranses all the way to Buffalo. Rule 6.7 - Ntei - 06-28-2011 i thought that freighters/transports could be shot down by caps if they refuse to drop controbant. Rule 6.7 - Govedo13 - 06-28-2011 ' Wrote:i thought that freighters/transports could be shot down by caps if they refuse to drop controbant.Indeed if you are official faction member or if you are in one of the systems that are exception of the rule. This discussion is pointless, it is all the same over and over again. Unfair points and opinions given by biased traders. What If I make topic where I cry why the official unlawful capital ships cannot pirate transports since the official lawful capital ships can shoot transports as it per rules right now "grins" ? If you really want some rule-changing do your legwork first. The rest is what Ashes said. Rule 6.7 - Cap.Kennedy - 06-28-2011 The piraes MUST understand that they are NOT the same thing as lawfuls just with different prefix, you want to role play a pirate, fine but overwhelming odds and constant exposure to danger are a part of it, face it, it is not realistic for pirate to fly heavy cruiser, where did he get the resources needed for its construction, and more importantly, that kind of ship attracts far too much heat for a pirate to fly it, pirate's life is running and hiding, not fighting(unless he rely has no other alternative). Remember what Jack Sparrow said was the bravest and noblest of pirate traditions-fight to run away. Rule 6.7 - Ceoran - 06-28-2011 ' Wrote:Indeed if you are official faction member or if you are in one of the systems that are exception of the rule. Dear unbiased pirate, Instead of simply flaming the topic and everyone who has spent more time on a trader character than was necessary to finance his first PTrans, how about you make your own proposal on how to fix ridiculous situations such as pirates happily pirating in front of lawful capital ships (in other words: abusing rules)? Unless you wish to maintain the possibilities of rule-abuse there is no need to rage over suggestions that are intended to close loopholes. Rule 6.7 - SnakThree - 06-28-2011 ' Wrote:That's because I don't want pirates to be able to pirate in capital ships. Nor do I want lawfuls to be able to attack smugglers or pirate transports in capital ships. But I believe you cannot have one without the other. You either allow both, or you allow neither. So because you think it can't be done doesn't mean it's impossible. For example we have Tech Chart but not SRP anymore. Quote:So because you think pirates are worse than lawfuls, then they deserve to get ganked and butchered by lawful capital ships hm? That's not very sporting of you. This rule we have in place is a fairplay rule. But I guess that doesn't mean anything to you at all. No one else on this server is here to have fun, they're here to allow you to have fun, right? Something along those lines in your mind?I never said lawfuls are better than unlawfuls. Nor that one side deserves to be outnumbered or outclassed. Your assumption that I don't care about sportsmanship is rude and itself is again the whole meaning of that sportsmanship. Hypocrisy much? Many times I said to people to try having fun. So your statement is not based with any strong evidence. I meant without evidence at all. I see what you are doing and I ask you to stop your personal agendas against me. It's not the first time, but I hope it's the last one. Quote:Oh, so a trader passing in front of a Pirate Cruiser on the tradelane isn't breaking the spirit at all? I guess you're a fan of hypocracy, but only when it suits your opinion.I guess you are a fan of making false assumptions based on your personal opinion and perception without anything to back it up. I never said it's not breaking the spirit. But pirating in, supposed to be very rare and few, capital ships is against the intention of their presence in the <strike>hand (darn T9)</strike> game. Quote:Believe it or not, pirates can pirate for fun, also. I'd kick people out of the LR- if they were only here to make money, nothing else. That's another poor reason at best.I don't care what you'd do in your precious LR-. Nor I said there ain't pirates who do it for other aims besides profit. That's another poor assumption and attempt to imply false information. ... I can play your little game of false statements with zero ground, but I won't fall to your level of morality. Rule 6.7 - Hone - 06-28-2011 The fact is the rule didnt used to be here, it was added in when it became apparent caps were too good against transports, if you want it gone (and I do) then caps need to be made not so good against trasnports. That goes for both pirates and navy. Rule 6.7 - mwerte - 06-28-2011 ' Wrote:While piracy in transports in front of superior forces hiding behind the rules is itself breaking the whole spirit of the rules. Ignoring ooRPly the danger that is visible is both ooRP stupidity and inRP stupidity. What roleplay immersion are you talking about? Yes, it's a little jarring to be pirated when there's a capital ship right there, but speaking as a pirate, its not exactly ooRP. Especially if there isn't a CD around. Smash, grab, run. It's also fun when the battleship's mortar hits the hedgemon you're pirating. :D RP =/= smart characters that always make perfect choices. Also, speaking as a cruiser who has annihilated traders, it's just bleh. The trader has no chance to get away, and it's boring for the cruiser. Rule 6.7 - Govedo13 - 06-28-2011 ' Wrote:Dear unbiased pirate,Dear not-biased trader, instead of simply flaming the topic and look one sided, how about make your own proposal on how to fix ridiculous situations where pirate capital ships(cruisers- with CD and same thrust speed as the transport vessels) are present and they leave enemy trader vessels unharmed to move on their way (in other words: abusing rules)? Unless you wish to maintain the possibilities of rule-abuse there is no need to rage over suggestions that are intended to close loopholes. But anyway now you can continue to beat the dead horse..... |
