Titan vs - chopper - 02-23-2008 Unselie, it needs more time to kill it, that's all. Titan needs less because it can fire whole day long from all guns. But in the end, yes, you only save the time. Titan vs - mjolnir - 02-23-2008 ' Wrote:A Titan built for pirating is ridiculous. Well I pirate a lot in a Slipstream....and in a Sabre... and in a Barghest... In Slipstream it's fun... but it takes a long time.. Fit Titan with 2 Tizonas and 4 Archangels... and see how long time that takes.... EDIT: Time often means success... in Slipstream it takes so long time that the Trader can manage to fly to the nearest planet/base on thruster. Titan vs - Horon - 02-23-2008 It would appear that there is an Anti-Corsair populace voting here... Titan vs - McNeo - 02-23-2008 Quote:The TBH Titans going down had much more to do with the pilots flying them than anything else.... as Julio showed... you know that very well.. I will contest every one of those points. How much easier is it to dodge a missile in a Sabre than it is in a Titan? Factoring in strafe, size and hitbox proximity to the centre, I'd say quite a bit easier. Julio did show us that. Do you know how much it takes out of you to fly a Titan without ever getting hit? In fact, do you know how much effort he put in to getting good with that ship? Something like being slaughtered by every person on the server. Its the same way I became good enough not to die in the first 5 minutes. I dont contest that it had nothing to do with how bad the pilots were. I concur with this, they were pilots desperately in need of training. But eight in five minutes? I think that is a bit too high a death rate for skill to be the only factor. And to do with the Arwing and Centurion... when is the next mod version coming out? August? Also, powerplant. Mini on every joust. If you know your enemy has a mini razor, you don't joust. Do you joust a person who knows how to use a mini razor Mjolnir? If you do, you deserve to die, to be honest. I have been hit only by flukes with a mini razor, because if you slide properly, they dont hit. Same if you box. Stupid people joust a minirazor, people who lack grey matter joust a bomber. Same for people who joust a missile ship in a vanilla ship. And, does anyone respect independants? In fact, do these independants even fly Titans? The day I see a fleet of three or more TT in Titans is the day I think you're facts will become correct. And, do you fly a Titan? I am sure you do, I am just not sure. Have you faced someone of your skill level flying a Sabre or BD against your Titan if so? Titan vs - Othman - 02-23-2008 ' Wrote:Not really. Guardian doesn't turn nearly like an eagle.Have to agree with this actually, just got your comment wrong I guess.. Titan vs - Equinox - 02-23-2008 Actually from what i can remember you cant fire a mini razor on every joust. Also with 2 Tizonas and 4 Silverfires you cant fire indefinitely, you get about 16 shots before your power is gone, not allot really?. Titan vs - Jwnantze - 02-23-2008 So what would you suggest, Conner? The same manueverability on a titan as on the sabre? Some points I will argue. I know how to joust a bomber and win. I did it in a crow and won. I can joust a mini and missiles and win, cause i know how. Also, I am a pretty skilled pilot. Majkp jousted me in that centurian of his and won. And yes, unseelie, the Titan IS a pirateing ship. However, I think the corsairs do need a new ship for fleet battles. Anything else? Possibly yes... yet I hear that Outcasts are "exploiting" the vanilla titan vulnerability... yet I didn't see any missiles on the corsair side yet... Quote:And to do with the Arwing and Centurion... when is the next mod version coming out? August?Ehm... when will Titan get a boost you are screaming for so much? at the same time... so fixing Arwing and boosting Centurion is just as viable option. Quote:Also, powerplant. Mini is usable.... with some practice you can hit shields on a dodging fighter..... and are you saying the extra 2k of armor is less worth than extra 3300 energy and faster recharge? Quote:And, do you fly a Titan? I am sure you do, I am just not sure. Have you faced someone of your skill level flying a Sabre or BD against your Titan if so? I flew Titan for a few weeks in 4.83... against Raven Talons before the nerf... have not flown it in 4.84 (after it got boosted) Seeing Corsairs screaming how useless fighters they have all over the forums... I'll be making a new Corsair character then. I can start first on Wednesday though. Oh and btw... remember the first TBH vs RoS? I actually believe the first one to die was a Sabre... then dieing continued at the same pace on both sides... until server crash stopped what looked like a very close draw. EDIT: Have to head off now... feel free to continue without me ;) Also I agreed with Duke... what would you suggest? If you make Titan more agile... how would it compare with Avenger? Templar? Chimaera... all the ships around....it's much easier to remake the HFs/LFs. Titan vs - McNeo - 02-23-2008 The first ROS TBH fight took the best pilots from the Corsair side, most of which have been trained either directly or indirectly by me. Mostly indirectly, as Razr usually trains with most of the pilots now, as I don't fly much. The first hint of a missile on a Titan, was actually Teresa Chavez's Titan and Centurion (the former of which has changed). Those can be used because said pilot knows how to use them and kills things with them. I have yet to meet a Corsair who wants to try his luck mounting a missile on a Titan. I wont either, because I have neither the time nor the will to learn more than the theory of how to use them, and I have no quarrel admitting that I can't handle having four guns on my Titan, one of which MUST be a shield buster. Which is actually a reason I want an Inferno so much. The Train CD I keep there is only a placeholder for something I wish I had. I work best with maximum hull busters on the gun slots and an Inferno (fast and shield killing) on the torp slot... but this is personal preference. The reason I am screaming my head off for something good to happen to the Titan, is because I know that if I don't it will never happen. That is a fact. Do you know how much the Titan got boosted by? I was so happy when it got boosted, I thought that finally people were listening to us and taking what the Corsairs felt. But in truth, the gap between the Sabre and the Titan became even wider. The fact you haven't flown it in this version proves that. I am not saying an extra 2k armour is not worth 3300 extra energy and a faster recharge. I am saying that 2k extra armour is worth a lot less than 3300 energy, faster recharge, faster turns, harder turns, faster strafes, thin wings and a thruster which is mounted on the main fuselage and not the top wing, which doesn't exist on the Sabre. The Corsairs are not screaming how bad the Titan is. I am screaming for them, because I am the only one who is willing to trade the reputation and respect I have garnered over the years from this community to ease the burden on those who fly Corsair. Those that think similarly are Chopper, most notably, but there are others too that make their opinion known in some small way. Free speech is about having the freedom to speak. This community has turned into as much a place to speak about Corsair vs Outcast balance as the UK has become a place to speak about tightening up immigrant regulations. Someone utters a word here in the UK about it, and they lose their job, their career and their life for one sentence they said. People who support the Corsairs, byenlarge, don't say what they feel because they think they will get lynched. People who support the Corsairs are afraid. I am afraid too. So I fight fire with fire. I saw the ruckus about the Unioners with a tiny little Gunboat. I saw that the Outcasts were willing to speak out against what they believed was wrong, and I followed suit. Titan vs - bluntpencil2001 - 02-23-2008 Come on, someone is blowing this out of proportion. This is nothing like people complaining about, for example, my stepfather disagreeing with the large amount of Polish immigrants in my hometown (Which he does so openly and doesn't get in trouble for.). You just said that you don't want to learn how to use missiles. That's your own fault. If you can't win a game the way you are playing, change the way you play, not the game. Now, aside from that, I will say that yes, the heavier vanilla ships are at a disadvantage to non-vanilla ships. Titans and Sabers are on par with one another. Against, for example, a Virage, the Titan is vulnerable. The only variations on vanilla ships that arent weak like this are probably the Chimaera and Blood Dragon. |
