No offence man, you have a general misunderstanding of what turret steering means for fighters. Its not about the turrets; its about how turret view allows you to have a greater firing arc that is not tied to the direction your steering. You have to try and see it in action to understand; it has nothing to do with turrets at all and is just as effective in a fighter with no turrets. Say NO to turret steering ! - Snak5 - 09-20-2011 Also, is one pilot, or better yet, snubcrafts, capable inRP of such capabilities? I understand, cap ships and transports are piloted by a crew. Thus they indeed could act as together to do this. But snubs? It makes no sense to me. It is not dogfighting anymore imho. Say NO to turret steering ! - jakub963 - 09-20-2011 So... We have jump gate technology, ships that can stay in space forever and more importantly, ship computers that can calculate and display predicted flight-path of pretty much unlimited number of ships around BUT it cannot operate the guns while in fight with ONE ship so pilot can focus more on the maneuvering. Thats what you say, right..? Say NO to turret steering ! - Snak5 - 09-20-2011 The other side always has such autoaiming jammed by some superdabstic technology. Fantastic, right? Say NO to turret steering ! - Omicron - 09-20-2011 Blindfire system featured at Alliance US fighters in Starlancer. Don't get me wrong I'm against having turret steering on fighters and bombers too. Say NO to turret steering ! - AeternusDoleo - 09-20-2011 ... someone tombstone this. This was long since decided on, so crying about it here and now really won't get anyone anywhere. For fighters it'll be near pointless, since their main gun arcs are forward only. For bombers, much the same. Freighters and other turret-heavy vessels will benefit from this. That freighters become more evasive, so be it - It'll give those vessels a purpose. Feature, not failure. Turret steering will be in. Say NO to turret steering ! - William Frederick Cody - 09-20-2011 ' Wrote:Turret steering will be in.Turret zoom too? Say NO to turret steering ! - Jinx - 09-20-2011 turret zoom, too the dsace.dll was not included for evaluation of the feature. it was put in for bug testing. to elaborate : many things will be balance tested - but it makes little to no sense to do that before all parts come together. there will be an open beta ( basicly the release of 4.86 ) - which will allow the players to not only search for bugs, loopholes, exploits ( which will hopefully be reported so they can be fixed ) - but also balance and adjustments ( which does not only include ships and weapons - but also rumors, mining, trading and general faction balance ) but in order to really evaluate those things - it needs every part to be present. |
