When large parts of the community feels like that, I think it has to do with the loss of credits involved - which is also a good indicator of immersion. The boundaries between in-game anger and real life anger gets transgressed, which show that people to some extent "live their role".
Also "2milordai" pirates is a rare sight. I hardly ever meet them - perhaps because I take the time to rp with pirates when I actually meet them. You should try it:-)
