Corsairs...WHAT HAPPENED! - Laerethe - 03-28-2012 ' Wrote:Omega41>Omega5>Cambridge That's if we go to pirate, but normally, its Dublin and Leeds we want. *sigh* Whatever I wish? That vast majority of players would agree that we get ganked; example, a large number(7/8) of Threshers/Bullheads jumping in and taking down one lone Osiris, just minding its business. Ring any bells? When we go Alpha, we have to travel the same distance. *facepalm* ' Wrote:Honestly, the distance from Alpha to Gamma more then trippled and due to the new OC dreadmodel being unable to get through even the least dense asteroid field in the game without getting stuck, people simply dont bother. Jorm can destroy the Osiris, which is all it needs to do since we can't effectively use the Legate anyhow. Agree about the ganking and tech. ' Wrote:I totally agree with you and will use this quote when submitting a proposal to buff jorm. Truly, it needs to have equal chances with legate, buffing core, armor and turret number should suffice. If you're going to buff the Jorm, give the Osiris another C10 and fix the Legate. Corsairs...WHAT HAPPENED! - Rodnas - 03-28-2012 Aside from me wanting to spy out the super secret outcast plans ... Doesn't every freking faction and their mother have the line of "superior shupbuilding"i mean is htere any house that has a "yeah, we suck at shipbuilding " line? Truth is, the Corsair guns got nerfed(don'T know if it is fixed or will be fixed in the next update) and the LF,HF and Bomber are all quite lackluster ships or plain bad compared to others of their respective class. The Titan is simply not very "easy" to fly...some folks claim that "if you learn to fly it you will be the best" but never tell their super secrets...so one could argue why you should invest let's say the double ammount of time to learn how to use a Titan if you could use half of the Time to be superiour in XXY. So it is a ship for dedicated pilots who have patience and are not in for the quick fun i guess ...so much for the tech side Anyways - there will always be Corsairs around, they might just get smarter and don'T hang around Crete 24/7 in Caps. ...So who tells me the secret of the Titan?;) Corsairs...WHAT HAPPENED! - Blodo - 03-28-2012 ' Wrote:whateverThat entire post is so wrong I don't even know where to begin. Maybe I'll just go by order of paragraphs. 1. Possession of planets doesn't account for what kind of ships you can field, possession of shipyards does. As long as there is a functioning shipyard, there can be capitals. Especially in an area of space as rich in resources, miners and corporate transports as the Omega systems. As simple as that. 2. Diamonds in Omega systems are arguably orders of magnitude more present than artifacts in the Malvada. There are several diamond mining fields in Rheinland itself, and there is an entire system that is said to be mostly carbon so diamonds there can be collected by the truck load - that system is Omega-11. Blood diamonds come from Omega-47, but they are just the tip of the iceberg for the Hessians' income. 3. The Corsairs themselves believe they build the best ships. That's kind of a biased conjecture based on a few rumours. If there is a news item from a non biased source that claims Corsair ships are the best, show me that one and then we can discuss that. Until then, it's just propaganda same as every other faction that claims "their ships are the best". 4. The Hessians dedicate the vast majority of their forces to killing Corsairs in the Omega systems. Rheinland sees a lot less Hessians than Omega-5 does. If you think there isn't total war between the Corsairs and the Hessians, you are dead wrong. And who says the Jormungand isn't balanced against heavy battleships anyway? Just because you can't seem to be able to fly it doesn't mean others can't. 5. Buffs/nerfs are based not on lore but on balance. Refer to point number 3 about biased conjecture. 6. The Hessians are in no way comparable to the CR, they are vastly larger and have far more resources at their disposal. They can afford to fight the Corsairs head on and have a chance of winning. The Outcast - Corsair war is if anything far overplayed, the true grinder is in the Omega systems. Even vanilla news support this if you actually take the time to read them. 7. Corsairs have a long history of overestimating their power, so I wonder who should be telling that to whom? And as a response to the post as a whole: Not only do you know next to nothing about Hessian lore, you also seem to know next to nothing about Corsair. Go read the *actual* lore rather than repeat what people say they believe on skype, and maybe you can get a clearer picture of what exactly is happening in the Omega systems. On a final note, I still find it absolutely hilarious how the Corsair players have turned into the Zoners when faced with defeat of similar magnitude as the FP9 fleet received a year or so ago during [A] times. I mean, the Corsairs are a faction that has arguably the biggest ZoI of any public faction, trumping even the Outcasts when you consider which active areas you have access to. You have bases in excellent locations, you have ships that are well balanced with what they have (in before legate sucks, it most certainly does not) and you even have one of the larger player bases that can still in the end afford to move from one end of the ZoI to another to avoid some of their enemies. What else do you possibly want save actual overpowered tech back? I know it was fun to pwn everyone with an OP osiris, but times change. If you want, I can give you some flying lessons pro bono, because when Hessians were faced with far greater odds than you are faced with even now, we sucked it up and dealt with it. Fighting on equal terms sucks? Well then... Corsairs...WHAT HAPPENED! - Narcotic - 03-28-2012 ' Wrote:Guess you weren't on the server 6 hours ago. At least in Gamma are people to hang around with. In Alpha rarely are. (And Omega-7 is dead, too.) Corsairs...WHAT HAPPENED! - Benjamin - 03-28-2012 ' Wrote:Hessians having a BS in the first place is farfetched. Their certainly the largest criminal organisation after the Sairs and Casts, but they do not possess their own planets, and although their miners, their first and foremost politically oriented as the rest of rheinland unlawfuls. Their not marauders who just pillage. Mmh. What's going on here? Red hessians can't have caps due to vanilla lore? Ok, but you have quite a few faction to remove the caps from before you get to hessians. I don't think there are enough zoners in vanilla to even crew a BS, let alone buy/make one. Calling sairs/outcasts 'demi houses' off their lore is disingeuous. It's not like there are 1.5bn of each, or even anything like that (enthusiastic infocard rewrites being ignored, that is). In fact pretty sure the hessians outnumber the corsairs, at least in the omegas. They're presented as worse pilots, but extremely numerous. And they're 'winning' the omega war in 801 I believe. Also even by then hessians are portrayed as shifting beyond/away from political/rheinland concerns and more towards omega/piracy business. I think you are being a teeny bit guilty of what you are accusing blodo of Corsairs...WHAT HAPPENED! - Cond0r - 03-28-2012 [color=#C1FFC1][font=courier new]Hey Prysin, I have a question for you. How come, when you tried SO hard to build up an argument, even with the support of others, all of that gets squashed in one post (that would be post #34)? Come to think of it, hang on, I can answer that question myself. Probably because you are making up arguments without knowing what you're talking about. I mean lets face it, you know nothing about lore, you dont even know the lore of the main factions you're playing in. So, what I propose is that you take a few days and catch up on reading, because this is just sad to look at. Your posts are like fairy tales. The only difference is that the authors of fairy tales know that they're made up as that was their intention, you on the other hand, make them up and believe in them. Corsairs...WHAT HAPPENED! - Adam_Spire - 03-28-2012 Odd, I find myself confronted with Corsairs daily in Rheinland. Also, when I see the Hessians build up, there is typically a Corsair fleet amassing near by too. I'm seeing many also fly around with no tags. Maybe they are on, just not overtly seen. Corsairs...WHAT HAPPENED! - JayDee Kasane - 03-28-2012 another topic? I think that low number of players now Corsairs are not active as well. I left Gamma raids, nothing interesting there. Ill better go pirate, even if I alone. at least no noobs to ruin my fun Corsairs...WHAT HAPPENED! - Cond0r - 03-28-2012 ' Wrote:at least no noobs to ruin my fun[font=Courier New][color=#C1FFC1]Ah yes, because as opposed to them, you are a masterful, veteran player. |
