There are no in role play explanations for the Zoners sudden progression. None. Zero. Nada. The progression is due to a development team that wasn't focused on lore or role play, but on making a successful mod for Freelancer.

a) your explanation only covers oorp. People know that stuff. The fact that there's no explanation, as you say yourself, is what I was questioning. 'There's no an explanation' is not an explanation.
b) iirc the infocard that added ~415,000,000 to GC's population (overwhelming majority of new zoner population) is pretty new.

Saying it isn't an explanation doesn't change the fact it is the explanation.
You'll find no role play explanation for it, because that stuff is largely ignored by the majority of the server. It was supposed to be removed in 4.86; I'm not sure why it wasn't.
