Shield limitations - Dab - 04-19-2006 I'm not saying you shouldn't be allowed those types of guns (heck put 12 battlerazors for all i care) I'm just saying it shouldn't be able to shoot them without losing as little energy as it does. It should have a smaller energy core. And should not have any other shields than what it starts with. ATM it is possible to destroy my destroyer with it. My point: is it possible to have some players be given the privilege of a modded ship like the Akki? Of course, if the player proves he's/her's worthiness of such a reward. If someone is willing, as I was, to pay for a battleship shield, then so be it Rather than bitching about this, perhaps you should ask yourself: why would anyone pay that kind of money for a single shield? The simple answer is that some weapons are extremely overpowered to the point where a failed shield is tantamount to a death sentence - and the extra protection of a larger shield is needed. When a group of NPC pirates can strip my freighters shield in a matter of seconds, what can a small group of skilled PC pirates not do? So of course I want the best protection available. I wouldnt mind making special slots for capital ship shields, but then overall shield strength for all shields needs to be boosted significantly Shield limitations - The Damned - 04-20-2006 Hey , hey hey... Knock it off. The Lux and Prison liners are afterall much more closer to a Lesser BS than A transport. Actually thinking of the Liners as a transports its ridiculous. They are cruser-class ships (because of the lack of a lesser BS class-like ship e.g. fregate or somth.) They should be able to equip cruser shields. OH and another thing - the shield and equipment stuff for Caps I have already proposed million times and I am getting tired of typing the same Sh*t over and over - Just make the da*n things with LV restrictuions - Transports/gunboats - lv8 , cruser/destrouerner - lv9 , BS - lv 10. Then there won't be any chance of getting a bs shield for GB , and this will enable intoducing in the mod some other types of shields for each class , without dissbalancing everything. Oh and the famous Mon Calamari cruser (the flag ship of the Rebels from SW univerce) is heavily modified civilian liner for the needs of the war. End of the line****** |
