Discovery 4.86 Storyline: Tau Conquest - Kane182 - 07-09-2010 You could give a nomad engine to Wild ships.. Wraith with nomad engine looks awesome... Also max ammo could be increased to 100 and cruising speed to 400 Discovery 4.86 Storyline: Tau Conquest - Surge - 07-13-2010 Just read it all, pretty cool I think. Discovery 4.86 Storyline: Tau Conquest - Slainte - 07-13-2010 Have to say i like what i read but i have some concerns for Bretonian trade companies. Looks like we are going to be restricted even more with who we can trade with and a lot of the rumours of huge house wars are not helping me much:(. If indeed it turns out this way are the Bret traders going to get some good runs? Also, looks like a lot of the new systems are only accessable through jump holes and not gates. Which is a bummer since in rp jump holes are ment to be unstable and companies like Gateway try not to use them. Discovery 4.86 Storyline: Tau Conquest - monmarfori - 07-14-2010 it is supposed to be in september 2010 release Discovery 4.86 Storyline: Tau Conquest - SWATJohnny - 07-14-2010 When will it be released ? will it be destructible universe? i mean if you can destroy stations, docking rings, stationary battleships (of course after 10-20 min. to start rebuilding and if the atackers are still there they can delay the rebuilding procedure). how about the nomads and the order? what happens with them ? i can`t wait for it! :D Discovery 4.86 Storyline: Tau Conquest - Klaw117 - 07-15-2010 A few questions: Wouldn't the Australian sleeper ship have transfered its passengers to the Bretonia? Also, was the failure of the Hispania's engines due to a Coaltion saboteur, overcrowding of both Spanish/Mediterranean and Italian colonists, or a combination of both? If the Hispania's engine failure was due to both the Coalition and overcrowding, then it would actually make sense if the Australians to transfer to the Bretonia because the Bretonia actually did suffer engine failures, although not to the extent of the Hispania. The timeline says that the Bretonia suffered partial engine failure because during the Exodus, its starboard engines were damaged while trying to break through the Coalition blockade. If the amount of colonists effects how prone the engines are to damage, then Bretonia could have suffered its engine damage because of not only the Coalition blockade, but also because the engines were weakened by the addition of the Australian colonists. Discovery 4.86 Storyline: Tau Conquest - Kal-el - 07-18-2010 ' Wrote:I do hope Gallic stuff will be rebalanced for Gallic versus Sirius combat, otherwise we're going to see some real issues in the next mod. Hmmmm...That would defeat the purpose would it not? Discovery 4.86 Storyline: Tau Conquest - Kal-el - 07-18-2010 4.87 - Gallia marches further south just outside New London. The end of the Liberty/Rheinland war. (If not already in 4.86) Kusari, Liberty, and Rheinland form an alliance. Kusari also forms alliance with Outcasts. 4.88 - The Freedom Alliance (Kusari/Liberty/Rheinland) start to push Gallia back from 3 fronts. Front 1: Omicron 80. Kusari and Outcasts obliterate the mine field and blitzkrieg there way thru Lorraine, Champagne, and part of Burgundy. Front 2: Liberty (with permission from TAZ) send fleets thru Baffin and into Tau 29 and then into Tau 31. Front 3: Rheinland blows thru Omega 7 and 3 into Cambridge and lays waste to the Corsairs and Gallia forces. 4.89 - The Freedom Alliance continues to advance and makes Gallia wish they never had started the war. Or............The Aussies come in and save the day because it was really Gallia who was trying to setup Australia and Italy as Coalition Cannon fodder!!!! Now that is a storyline!!! Discovery 4.86 Storyline: Tau Conquest - AceJoker - 07-18-2010 The story is good and it fits perfectly to my future RP plans. I didn't read all the posts, only the first and the last few pages. As expected, there are two groups. One that can't wait for 4.86 and one complaining or being critical about this. I for myself will wait for 4.86 not only because of gameplay reasons but also concerning interesting RP aspects. Gameplay: If 4.86 is as fun as 4.84 and 4.85, why shall it not be released? What are you afraid of? Starting with a new char? Rerouting your fleet to another base? Are you really so much afraid of changings? Listen folks, i know that I am only the new guy in this forum but as a gamer with over 25 years of gaming experience I tell you that a game needs some kind of sequel, even if it is a mod. Think about it. If you managed to get the best weapons/equipment, brought the story to an end, in case of open-end titles like FL having explored all the edges of their world space, and finished all what needs to be done, then a game becomes unevitably boring because you think "Yeah, there's nothing to do now here...". In that case, the game becomes dusty in your shelve because it is not interesting anymore. So what about long-term motivation? What about telling yourself "If i do that part different, i will do the other part even better"? Let us call a spade a spade: we are all enjoying the exploring part of a game and not the done-with-it part, aren't we? Yes you all are right by thinking about the fact that most gamers including me play a game with goal to finish it and to see it's end. Therefore I ask you what happens after you see the end of the game? Do you put it into your shelve hoping that one of your friends suddenly finds it and says something like "Wow you got that game? Awesome man, really awesome!". If you ask me that is not the reason why games are made. I mention this because I experienced this situation once (and only once). Enough being carried away now, BTT: In case of RP: I do not care about the political development of Sirius. This is how I play the game. If a full-scale war is about to break loose, then it is paradise for my char. You see, I was always playing like a merc. That means to get my hands on (acceptable) good equipment, receive the creds, which was bargained and signed in my contract, and after solving it seeking out a new...erm...customer:D. So I chose to play with a Merc ID. I cannot imagine myself flying through Sirius as a cargo jockey, despite the fact that such chars getting rich far more earlier in their career (depending on their actions). War was and will always be a good business market. Conflicts will bring conflicts, new hatreds and alliances will rise. The ones with money will pay enormous amounts of credits for escorts. On the other hand the Pirates will use the chaos to loot unprotected guys. As you can see, the game itself will NOT change that much. CONCLUSION: In the name of fairness, give 4.86 a chance to prove itself and start complaining afterwards. All we know about it now is just wild speculations based on a written story. Do not forget that the developers will not suddenly disappear after releasing 4.86. If they get feedback (which they desperately need and that is why the forum exists in first place), then there is always an opportunity for an update, don't you think? I do not want to flame anyone. I only speak in general terms and for myself. If you disagree, state your opinion without flaming and do not keep your opinion for yourselves. Like i said, I am just a freshman. EDIT: spelling and grammar corrected Discovery 4.86 Storyline: Tau Conquest - Zweibrucken - 07-20-2010 I think we should have Kusari+Rheinland+Gallia vs. Bretonia + Liberty + Hispania(corsiar+Outcast):yahoo: |
